can't seem to talk to a customer service representative

i called the USCIS number 1-800-375-5283, and went through the entire menu 20 times... i can't seem to find an option where i can actually speak to a customer service representative. However, annoyingly, many of the messages end with: "Please call this number again to speak with a customer service representative." I've been calling since 2:00 p.m. friday in atlanta, ga.

I'm so damn confused. I've been living in guam since i was 3 years old, my father's a citizen. I've been a permanent resident all my life. i received a fingerprint notification at march 2005, and got that out of the way quickly... why am i waiting almost 2 years? And why can't i even speak with a customer service representative, and is there website supposed to be that messed up right now?

The only case status i can find is the one online, and it just says that at january 2006, my N400 was moved to a service center in mesquite, texas. Is there anything i can do to speed up the process? Or heck... just talk to anyone about this?

Your case is stuck in some scary kind of hell--you may be one of the unfortunates with a name check that just won't clear.

Some people in your situation have filed against the gov't in a Mandamus suit to get results.

Where do you live now? When did you file, and where to?

The form should be mailed to the Service Center and they will hold it until your District Office calls for it. What is the processing time at your DO relative to your priority date?

Forget trying to call that 1-800#, they will read you exactly what you see on your own computer.

You could try an Infopass appointment and see what you can shake down in person. Be prepared with all of your relevant documents when you go to your appointment.

Im sorry you are having so much trouble and that I dont have any advice to give other than contact you congressman or senator for help on your case. They usually have some one working with immigration cases. You can find out who to contact by going here http://www.house.gov/writerep/ . I hope things work out for you.

i live in atlanta, georgia. i processed before march 2005 (which is the date i got my fingerprints done). what is this infopass (heading towards faq).

Your name seems nice to me. :) Maybe someone bad has the same name tho, and they need to clear that it is not you who did something bad.

https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/offi...electedOffice=7

Atlanta shows that they are processing N-400s from March 15, 2006 and before. If that date is more than 30 days past your priority date (filing receipt date, on your Notice of Action), your case is considered 'overdue'.

Your fingerprints have probably expired, by the way, and will have to be re-taken.

InfoPass is the new way to make an appointment to go to your DO. Try to get 'talk to an officer about my case' so that you can talk with someone who can actually do something.

Don't call your elected reps until you know what you are talking about. You don't have enough information at this point.

i almost feel like i've done something wrong here... i should have educated myself about the process more. I filled out an N-400, and then filed an AR-11, since i moved. I got a fingerprint thingy done... and that's about it. I haven't heard or gotten anything from them since. I've heard horror stories about people having to wait for several years, and so i kept patient. I even talked to someone from USCIS just to confirm that they do have my current address, which they said they did.

Oops, you moved.

You need to follow up with your old District Office too. Filing AR-11 does not change your mailing address, it simply records your movements.

That could easily explain why you haven't heard anything since biometrics.

Your name seems nice to me. :)

Not if you happen to be on the end of one:
