Best of luck to ya. It seems a few people get unusual results and approved fast, but for most the wait is longer than you have. I would reccomend letting your people know of the problem now, and make... well not plans per say, but goals for the new year with it :s

But maybe ask the venue if they'll keep the deposit and allow you to change the date once you have a better idea...

OR, you can go the US (if your tourist visa is still valid) and have an Engagement/Meet-and-Greet/Bridal party on that date, if they won't allow you to change the date...

I am sorry to say that, but it is pretty risky too! Have all those guests to come over and not being let in through the custom herself/himself. It does happen , especially if they have a K1 visa in progress and the officer will have any doubt that this actually is a tourist visit. Wouldn't chance it! I am sure it would be a greater disappointment to go all the way there and not attend the wedding (or just party) than actually having to change plans right now

I really wouldn't plan anything til you get approved. It's one of the biggest bits of advice given on this site since day 1. Best of luck to all!!
