So my wife's case has been transferred to NVC but no case number has been assigned yet (it's still somewhere in the mail room I guess). Since she's in Mexico her case will most likely be handled at the Ciudad Juarez Consulate.

I've heard many different things about vaccinations including: a) the consulate does not care if you've had them already, they'll give them to you anyway; b) the consulate validates vaccinations on the social security card (that person's vaccination record); and finally c) if you've had vaccinations recently, the consulate will make you wait 3 months and give them to you again (not sure if you're given the visa and allowed to enter USA or made to wait in Mexico).

My wife wanted to get her vaccinations this week but I told her to hold off until we found out what the best thing to do is, get them now, at her clinic for much lower cost, or get then at the clinic at the consulate. Your advice is much appreciated!

If you've already had the vaccinations, I don't see why they would make you get them again. Even if you don't have a written record (which you should) of the vaccinations you've had, the doctor can do a blood test to immunity to the disease, in other words that you've had the vaccination already. My husband went to his doctor and had him give him a written document stating all of his vaccinations and when he'd had them done - maybe your wife can do the same? I wouldn't worry about it too much. Just find out what she's already had, and get the ones she hasn't beforehand. Even if you miss one, the doctor at the consulate clinic can give it to her, like you said.
