A bit unique issue with NVC's alternate/assigned US Consulate for interview

Always something new? Well, I have submitted my DS230 a week ago, and at the same time I received a snail mail from NVC asking me to choose an alternate US embassies from two countries for my spouse to conduct the interview since the US Consulate where my spouse resides doesn't process immigrant visas. However, one of the two alternate countries doesn't even have a diplomatic relationship with my spouse's origin of country, and nor there is an embassy of the second country? It's impossible for my spouse to get an entry visa to conduct the interview at the US consulate in either of those two host countries? So, I emailed NVC requesting a change of US Consulate in another country where my spouse could easily get an entry visa to conduct the interview. Today I had a chance to talk to NVC's costumer representative and I was told to contact the US consulate personally and then NVC will forward the case if it is accepted by the consulate, otherwise NVC will send the case to one of those assigned US embassies for that country. So, after awhile I called back NVC and talked to another customer service representative and this time around I was told no to contact the US consulate, just to wait for NVC reply in about a week or so? It is a bit confusing? My case is still with NVC and not yet completed, why do they wanted me to contact the US Consulate when the case is yet to be sent? Does anyone know or have been through this sort of route to advice me what should I do in this situation? Your help is greatly appreciate.

can you tell us the country your husband is from, and what alternate countries they gave you as options? perhaps it will get you some answers if people know the countries you are dealing with.

I agree. It is very hard for anyone here to assist you when you aren't providing more details. There are a lot of members here with expertise and a lot of information to share but you need to give them as much info as possible in order to help.
