My legal residence is currently in Denmark, through March 1st (at which time I'm hoping the NVC will already have our case).. Do I put Denmark or USA in the country of domicile box? I just don't want to get RFEd... I am including a picture of my driver's license, American bank account records, and a screen shot of my current application status at a University in Texas for this summer, etc to show proof of maintaining a domicile in the US. Is that overkill or do I need more?

Yes, put Denmark or Iceland or wherever you are currently living.

Then you will put proof that you intend to reestablish domicile in America or you have only been living abroad temporarily.

This is a fairly simple process but you will also need proof of where you are going to live - a lease, a deed, etc.

If we're going to be living with a relative, what should I do in that case? Should I just have them write a signed letter saying that we will be living with them?

Many people here will print out a free lease form and have the relative and them sign it to make it official.

You can also do an attached thing for it. Ours looks like:

I, %&^((*(*(), am currently residing in Denmark with my spouse, (*($*#$(*#(*($*. Below you will find a list of attached documents to show that my principle residence is in the US and the steps that I have taken to return to the US with my family.

Steps I have taken to maintain US Domicile:

• Maintained my &(*&*( Bank and *(*(* credit cards registered in the US with a US address

• Maintained my bank account at &(*&*(&*(

• Maintained my daughter’s bank account at &(&*(&*(&

• Maintained my Connecticut driver’s license, AAA membership, and social security card

• Maintained my car insurance coverage through my mother

Supporting Documents for the above steps I have taken:

• fjskjfsl and sdljfksj Bank credit card statements showing US billing address

• slkfjkskjfskljf statement showing permanent US address

• Bank of sjfjsjla statement showing permanent US address

• Connecticut driver’s license showing permanent US address

• Proof of still being on mother’s car insurance

Steps I have taken to return to the US to take up residence:

• We will be moving into my deceased step-father’s house while it clears probate and then afterwards (I am the sole beneficiary of his estate)

• Researched CT’s laws about homeschooling and emailed school district about Kindergarten enrolment

Supporting documents for the above steps I have taken:

• A copy of my father’s will indicating me as sole beneficiary, acceptance by the probate court, and a property evaluation done by a licensed real estate agent on the property for the estate

• Printout of CT guidelines for homeschooling and email to school district

I declare that I intend in good faith to re-establish my domicile in the United States no later than the date of spouse's admission into the US.

I certify under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the statements in this letter and all accompanying evidence are true and correct.

Awesome thanks so much! BTW Totally admire you for sticking it out in Denmark. I was up in Aalborg.... and I was TOTALLY miserable. Smallest town on the planet I feel like! Nice people, but the it was not for me and staying at home with my daughter in a foreign country has also been a huge challenge... but I'm sure you already know how challenging that is!

I sure do. Aalborg is nice, I suppose. We live on the outskirts of Aarhus.
