Is the engagement ring required for initial filing of the I-129F package

Couple quick questions on the K1 Visa process:

I already looked at the guidleines, but I would like to hear people's responses.

1) Is the engagement ring required for initial filing of the I-129F package? Can I start the I-129F process as soon as I can and then I can give the engagement ring in couple months when I see my girlfriend, and that will be additional proof of relationship for the interview. Because of the long distance relationship, we already talked about this and we know what we are ready for this, but I was wondering whether I can start the paperwork now and get this process rolling. We already have lots of relationship proof, such as photos, plane tickets, conversations, etc...

Is the engagement rings even required for the interview? (But there definitely will be a ring for the interview anyways.)

2) Proof of relationship must be included with the initial filing of the I-129F form, right? Can additional proof be submitted during the process? so that more evidence is present for the interview.

3) In regards to the "129F Package: Checklist", all of those documents must be collected and submitted together during the initial filling correct? So as much as possible is required for proof of relationship at this stage, right? (which we have plenty of evidence)

Thank You,

1. Engagement ring is not a requirement. We never sent any information about our engagement ring. In fact my fiance gave me my engagement ring after we filed when he saw me in person and we will bring that evidence to the interview as you have also planned to do. We received our NOA2 without any RFEs. Some ppl never even exchange wedding bands it all depends on the couple.

2. Proof of relationship is not a requirement but ppl do recommend adding some for the initial filling. Personally I added some evidence from the beginning of our relationship until we filed and now for the interview we are bringing from the filing date to the interview date.

3. All documents must be submitted together. You cannot submit one document and then add more later because you will either receive a denial or a RFE.

Also I would recommend starting with your fiance's G-325 and her letter of intent. She will have to sign these and send them back to you. These must be original signatures and sometimes it takes a little while for the mail to arrive. I had to wait an additional 2 weeks until my fiance's paperwork arrived to send our packet bc of how slow the international mail was.

Good luck!

Thank You,

1. Engagement ring is not needed at any time for any reason. Alla never had one until AFTER she became a citizen. She refused to "waste money" on one. For her New Yer's gift I gave her a diamond anniversary band, so technically she still has no "engagement ring". Evidence of intent to marry means a letter of intent from each person, nothing else is needed to show intent to marry.

2. Proof of meeting in person is required for the petition, Proof of relationship is for the interview. VJ guides "recommend" you send proof of relationship with the I-129f, it is NOT required. I sent none.

3. NO proof of relationship is required for the I-129f. NONE. ONLY proof of meeting in person.

You could meet someone on the street corner this morning and file an I-129f this afternoon and have it approved. A petition is NOT a visa. A petition is not an application for a visa. An approved petition is "permission to apply" for a visa.
