EAD and AP

Hello fellow friends.

I just wanted clarification on a few things. Tonight i notice on the USCIS website that my EAD and AP were approved, and I was mailed a notice on Friday 8th February.

Really wanted to know that when my NOA 2 for EAD turns up hopefully this week, am i then permitted to accept a job offer and begin employment ? Or do i need to wait for the actual card to turn up in the mail, if so how long does this take ?

For AP i have a flight leaving the US on friday 8th march which was my return leg of when i came into the usa on the 10th december. I now need to book a flight coming back, can i therefore do this with an approved AP, or again do i need to wait for some sort of card in the mail ?

Thanks in advance

Mark

You will need the actual ead card, you also need your SSN number. If you haven't gotten that already you will want to pop down to the SSN office and get it.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yes, they come quickly. You need the AP card to show when you return to the US, but I would want it in hand when I left. Some people have had them mailed over for the return, but I would worry about something important as that getting lost. It should easily be to you before your trip.

Cheers

"Both" is actually one card with two purposes...EAD and AP.

I see, i was not aware of that, i assumed a card for one and a card for the other.

thanks for the confirmation

That's why I mentioned it. Some people post they got their EAD but not the AP because they didn't read the fine print on the card.

They were separate when we did AOS. EAD was kind of a credit card type/size thing and AP was two identical pieces of letter sized paper with your photo. Seems like AP used the passport photo you mailed in with the application. EAD used the photo captured at biometrics. They were almost always approved the same date, so I guess somebody got the money saving idea to make it a combo card when people applied for both.
