It's all over, my hubby is finally a US citizen! Time to travel! Huzzah!

Everything was so easy, they had a special oath ceremony to coincide with the 4th of July. It was on the lawn of the former home of US president Benjamin Harrison. Really cool! Registered to vote, adjusted SSN status and applied for the passport right there on the lawn. Easy peasy!

So, i got my oath letter. It is scheduled for 7/15. However, at that time I will be in AZ.And I guess In Jacksonville oath ceremonies are scheduled every other month. So I went and changed my address back to Tampa, since I will be moving there soon. And then I also mailed this field office in Jax to tel them that I will be not able to attend. In Tampa they have oath ceremonies a little more frequently then in Jax. Does anyone know how long will this delay my case?

I'm like why in the world did you not wait?!? Really, its only two weeks away

Just venting....getting discouraged, STILL waiting for a letter telling us when our interview is scheduled.....check the mailbox anxiously everyday and still nothing....sigh

There's really nothing to worry about. You may be thinking too much. Register the text msg/email case status service with USCIS, so that you don't have to check your mailbox everyday.

There's really nothing to worry about. You may be thinking too much. Register the text msg/email case status service with USCIS, so that you don't have to check your mailbox everyday.

I do not think anything changes on your status when you are on the testing and interview step (so they do not send you a text message or email about your interview letter).

Hi everyone

I passed my interview today. The officer was a lady that was nice but spoke very quietly :)

She reviewed the papers and asked me some questions like DOB, what I did before, what I was doing now etc...

She asked me to read: Who elect Congress

She asked me to write The People elect Congress

For the Government test, the questions were

- Who wrote the Declaration of Independence: Jefferson

- What is the political party of the President: Democratic

- What are the two political parties in the USA: Democratic and Republican

- Who is the Chief Officer of the military: the President

- Name 3 original states: North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia

- Name a state that borders Mexico: California

Then she said i passed and that I will get a notice of the oath ceremony.

Back to the waiting room, we waited 45 minutes before someone called me and gave me my notice for the Oath ceremony in two weeks!!

Finally got my interview letter... I can comfirm that walking in early for your biometrics doesn't speed anything up.

But asking for it to be scheduled, sure messes up the whole thing!

Three months and counting since I had to request the rescheduling of the biometrics. Not able to start an e-request yet, TWO people on the phone telling me just wait, no time frame for rescheduling and I can start the e-request in September (goodie). Infopass appt (trying to get biometrics done at the same time), sends me to St. Paul, when biometrics were scheduled in Milwaukee... So, yes a mess! They are not kidding when they say, not to miss appts. or else.

Again, I am very happy for all of you that are done or close to it. May be next year will be my turn.

Guys , I took couple of days off from checking forums . I got my oath letter back on July 1. Oath is scheduled for July 19th . Dist is Cleveland OH .
