hello everyone! just got my visa package 3 days ago...im planning to leave on first of week of april after fixing some things, i will leave here before i go to my future wife permanently.

my question is for the Manila Embassy applicants who got approved, i need my passport but its inside the package, i know its prolly a dumb question (since it is written in the instructions) but i need to be sure, : is it ok to retrieve my passport inside the package as long as i don't open the yellow envelope? it's the only one that's needed to be sealed once i arrive at the POE right? what are the other documents i need to bring with me on the POE?

also, should i (or is it optional to) attend the GCP? (guidance and counseling program)...and where is it located? am i missing anything before i leave for US???

ill very much appreciate your advices, im so lost right now.

thank you very much

Hi Beck! Congratulations on your visa!! :)

my question is for the Manila Embassy applicants who got approved, i need my passport but its inside the package, i know its prolly a dumb question (since it is written in the instructions) but i need to be sure, : is it ok to retrieve my passport inside the package as long as i don't open the yellow envelope? it's the only one that's needed to be sealed once i arrive at the POE right?

Yes, it is okay to open the plastic encasing the whole package to get your passport. As long as you don't touch the yellow envelope, you will be fine.

I went through the exact same thing. I was too scared to do anything with the package and was trying to look for my K-1 visa number to fill out the CFO/PDOS online registration form. I was searching for it on the white sticker with the barcode attached to the package hahaha! Only after my friend confirmed that it can be found on the visa sticker in my passport did I open the plastic bag to get it (my passport).

what are the other documents i need to bring with me on the POE?

I'm not sure because I'm not at that stage yet, but you can ask in the Philippines forum: http://www.visajourn...29-philippines/.

I will be bringing the visa package plus a copy of our I-129F petition and a copy of the package of documents I brought to the visa interview just in case.

also, should i (or is it optional to) attend the GCP? (guidance and counseling program)...and where is it located?

It is required to attend the GCP.

Here is the location of the CFO office where it is held: http://www.cfo.gov.p...1345&Itemid=843

Here is more info about the process: http://www.cfo.gov.p...onals&catid=140

Here is my experience with the PDOS (more commonly known as CFO in this forum): http://www.visajourn...38#entry5948438

am i missing anything before i leave for US???

You will be okay! Good luck to us! :)

I am (usually) the beneficiary.

i made a small slit on the plastic covering the yellow envelope and passport. So my yellow envelope is still inside the plastic with a small opening.
