Buying required Swedish postage to interview

I reside in the US and my husband lives in Denmark and he will need to travel to Stockholm Sweden for his Consular interview in about 6 weeks. We understand that according to the NVC website: "Applicants residing in Norway or Denmark need to bring 295 SEK in postage with them on the day of their interview."

Unfortunately my husband's interview is at 830am so when he arrives, most places that could sell him postage will be closed that early in the morning.

I thought that one way to buy this postage would be to purchase it via the internet. I have written to the online shop in Sweden that sells postage, but I have not heard back from them.

Can some please dispel the mystery about what they've done to get 295 SEK worth of postage when one lives far away from Sweden?????!

This is driving me a little nuts right now.

Thank you soooo much.

Also, I wanted to share what my RFE letter requested. I was very nervous because I thought all of my docs were in order and , at the time, I had an attorney who reviewed everything for us. So that the rest of you don't have this happen to you, please know that there is a difference between a "Marital Status" doc. in Denmark and a "Divorce Decree". The Marital Status doc. says that a person has been divorced and is free to marry, basically. My husband and I assumed (and the attorney apparently) that was Denmark's version of my husband's divorce paper work. The RFE stated that we need to submit the Divorce Decree (which should show both parties Legal Separation from one another as well as their actual Divorce showing both parties names and a Danish official's signature). And remember to get it all translated. Good Luck

Why not have him arrive the day before and get the postage before the place closes. Then he can settle in and try to get a good nights sleep so he is up bright and early and ready to go?!

ya, make a vacation out it - arrive round lunchtime the day before?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thank you both for replying and we have considered this but we have already spent quite a bit of money on this process(including flying back and forth to be with each other as we've been separated for some time due to other reasons) so it just seemed unreasonable for him to spend more money staying over night just get a $46.00 stamp.

Just wondered what others have done in the case where staying over night is not an option.

By the way, here is another tip for all those spouses living in Denmark and plan to live in the States: The NVC site says that all those who were not drafted in the military but took the military exam must provide a military document stating that they were not drafted, or something to that effect. The information on the NVC's website on how to obtain this military document is not correct and if you try to follow this path, you will be taken on a long and time wasted journey to absolutely no where. So if you think you need this military document, and you took the exam and were not drafted, try requesting the information from this email address: vaernepligt@brs.dk. Once Again, Good Luck and let me know if anyone has the answer to Swedish postage mystery.

Thanks All
