We have our final interview date scheduled on February 20th, 2013 at the US Embassy in London and are trying to make travel arrangements for my fiance to fly to the US. Does anyone who's migrating from the UK to the US know approximately how long after the interview date we should expect to receive the passport? We're looking to schedule the flight 2 weeks after the interview date, but want to ensure that's enough time. Thank you in advance!

That is usually within the window.....but.....what if they are placed into extended AP after the interview? It happens....for reasons unknown. NEVER EVER make ANY plans until the visa is IN YOUR HANDS.. Maybe you've heard/read that before?

I'm quite familiar with London processing. I have seen 3 days, 5 days, 10 days, 4 weeks, 8 weeks, 8 months....even if told approved at the interview. You can't be sure until you have the visa in hand, but 2 weeks ought to be enough if you're not ask to submit more documentation, got the right police certificate, right birth certificate, were born in the UK, aren't Muslim and they don't change your appointment last minute. Those are a few things that people have been blindsided with after they thought they had a perfectly wrapped up case. I think the standard answer the embassy gives is 7-10 working days. If everything goes perfectly, the visa should arrive by the 25th or 26th.
