Congratulations!

Do share how you went about with the expedite. We're considering to do it if it takes too long and becomes too close to his PCS date :)

Thank You!

1. Submitted i-130

2. Got NOA 1

3. Waited about 10 days and then called the military hotline 1-877-CIS-4MIL and asked for a military expedite due to an upcoming deployment to Kuwait in October.

Call got connected to a Case officer. She asked if I had orders..... I do not and said I could get a memo from my commander since they do not cut orders this far out. She then told me they do not do military expedites on I-130 anymore and that she would do the request under "other". She then told me I would get a response in the mail in 15 days. Instead I got the first email I posted on here about 20 days after I made the request. Then 3 days after that email I got the apporval email.

Like other people on here have suggested ..... Just be nice and very friendly with the service people over the phone... Many of them are willing to help out service members.

Good luck

Hmmm makes me want to have my husband call them to request an expedite, too!

We are to PCS back to the US in November.

So, you were able to get a memo? What did you give your commander as info on your need for a memo?

Are you air force? Is it from the squadron or group commander?

Sorry, I have so many questions. :) Congratulations to you both!

They never asked me to send anything in. I just said I could get one but never sent anything to them. I guess she took my word on it. I am in the Army and was just going to have my company commander sign a memo that I would write up. Thats usually how its done when you need something signed in the military..... Write it up and just have them sign it.

So, you wrote it yourself? Cool. Will pm you. :)

It depends on your local field office I think. But it's best to start your own thread, rather than trying to get answers on someone else's. I think you're more likely to get the info you seek . :) Also it's a weekend and VJ tends to be slow on weekends. Just so ya know.
