Looks like some I-129F's have been piling up at NBC, and are beginning to be processed. I bet your I-130 is actually being processed at your local office.

Western Adjudication Center - California Service Center.

What does my USCIS case number mean?

Your receipt contains a case number that USCIS assigns to your case. It is in the following format (ignore the dashes): aaa-xx-yyy-z-mmmm, where

* aaa: The service center that received your case. For example:

SRC - Texas Service Center (formerly Southern Regional Center),

LIN - Nebraska Service Center (named after Lincoln, NE),

WAC - California Service Center (formerly Western Adjudication Center) and

EAC - Vermont Service Center (formerly Eastern Adjudication Center).

* xx: The fiscal year of USCIS, from October 1 to September 30. Cases filed from 10/01/2006 to 09/30/2007 will have xx = 07

* yyy: The working day of the fiscal year when your case is received. 10/01 = 001

* z: Either 5 (in database) or 0 (paper files)

* mmmm: A serial number assigned to your case based on the number of cases received, starting from 0001

You won't. You also won't see on the USCIS website that the I-130s are processed at local offices. That would require them to completely redo their website. Just trust us here who have been doing this since they started the transfers that this is how it is working. :-)

Where is your local USCIS office? Once you know that, type in I-130 "local office name" in the VJ advanced search. Hopefully you will find other members who also have pending or approved I-130 applications from your local office and you can get an idea of where they are at in regards to processing.

Some local offices are notoriously backed up (Chicago and Atlanta).

Be aware though that none of this will lead to a definitive answer on processing times. The petitions appear to be approved in no sense of order or reason.

I am the petitioner.

Yep, people after me are approved and others from Aug still aren't. Apparently Atlanta hasn't even started working on cases yet according to a person who went to an infopass appointment there.

Ugh, how frustrating. Sorry to all those in Atlanta purgatory.

I read through this and I still don't see where my wife's I130 is. It was filed in the Arizona lockbox. The first 3 letters are MSC, which is apparently Missouri. However, when I login to track her application, I am not given a dropdown for Missouri. My choices are California, Texas, and Vermont. It is currently in initial review and has been since December. I know it will take a while, but I am just trying to get a better idea of when we will move on to the next step.

Also, not sure if it matters, but in the letter, it was mailed from National Benefits Center. It doesn't say that it is being processed there, but I assume it is.

Are you adjusting while she is in the US (I-130 with an attached I-485)? Those are going to MSC/NBC.

If they decide to do an interview, they will forward the packet to your local office.

No adjustment. My wife is in Peru and I am in the US. We are just waiting patiently.
