I got through the interview in the beginning of Feb, but I didn't get approved right away as the officer asked me to provide more information.

I wanna know how long it will take me to receive the final decision after I provided more information.

Does anyone know the time?

Thank you

It can be quite variable, and Guangzhou often takes their sweet time. If you had your interview on the 1 Feb, today is only seven calendar days since your interview. Have you sent an inquiry email to the GUZ IV unit, confirming that they have your requested additional information? Additionally, it is Spring Festival holiday time in China, I would suggest contacting the consulate in a week or so. Have you inquired about the receipt of the additional information and visa status with a visa specialist at the Department of State?

:time: It helps everyone that uses the site.

Hope that you hear good news soon.

But I was rejected by 221g item with a blue paper.

Does anyone go through this process with 221g item?

I'd appreciate a lot if you'd like to share your experience.

Ah, now is the rest of the interview story. Sorry, to hear about your 221g blue paper issue. You can read our Guangzhou consulate interview review through our timeline or the VJ Reviews section. However, we had a different experience, we were approved after the interview. The gods were smiling on us that day....

There have been other threads speaking about 221g blue paper rejections and the Guangzhou consulate; consider reviewing China regional forum threads, or utilize the forum's Google search function - try "221g China" as a start.

Good luck.

What does the 221g say on it? what is marked on it? or and written on it? And from your other post you have made it sounds like you will need a sponsor if they accept them where u are at.or he will need to get a job showing he is making 125% of the poverty level.

My American fiance doesn't have a job yet now, but he has lots of assets, the total value of assets is much much more than 125% of poverty level. So I am wondering if he still needs to get a job to show he is making 125% of the poverty level. Or Officer will accept the fact that we're gonna live on all the assets he has now.

For K1 visa with I-134, I'm wondering if my American fiance must have a job to sponsor me.

What exactly paper will the consulate officer accept to approve my K1 visa? 3 years-tax paper? Or enough money and assets to live on even without a job?

If You Can’t Meet the Minimum Income Requirements

If you cannot meet the minimum income requirements using your earned income, you have various options:

  • You may add the cash value of your assets. This includes money in savings accounts, stocks, bonds, and property. To determine the amount of assets required to qualify, subtract your household income from the minimum income requirement (125% of the poverty level for your family size). You must prove the cash value of your assets is worth five times this difference (the amount left over).
    • Exceptions:
      • If the person being sponsored is a spouse, or son/daughter (who is 18 years or older) of a U.S. citizen: The minimum cash value of assets must be three times the difference between the sponsor’s household income and 125% of the federal poverty guide line for the household.
      • If the person being sponsored is an orphan coming to the United States for adoption: The adoptive parents’ assets need to equal or exceed the difference between the household income and 125% of the federal poverty line for the household size.

I think getting a job would be priority number 1.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Thank you very much for your advice.

We can easily meet the requirement of the cash value of his assets is worth five times the difference between our household income and the minimum income requirement (125% of the poverty level for our family size).

If we meet this requirement, does he still have to get a job?

Where can I find the website of I-134 sponsor's qualification?

study the I-864 instructions, as the I-134 is adjudication using the guidelines in the I-864.
