I agree with that. Ours was F2A case and paid IV fee in May 2011, case is still pending interview. I have no idea why they asked us to pay fees that early. I will call the authorities today for a definite answer.

Wow your case completed nearly two years ago! Why so long to schedule an interview??

Hi Guys

My Mom had her interview in January but hasn't yet received her visa.So i believe she should pay this fee. I went to the USCIS website to pay the fees, but since she hasn't get her visa, she doesn't have any A number yet and the USCIS form asks for CASE ID ( Case number?) and A number. so there is no way for me to pay this fee.

You pay the fee.

After you have the visa.

Simple as that.

The new fee is after the Visa.

The fee is paid after receiving the Visa package and prior to POE.

You don’t get your green card until you pay the fee.

I'm not sure why you're quoting me.

Unless you just read what I wrote incorrectly because of the way I wrote it.

I was not saying you pay the fee and then after that you get the visa.

Yep, completely misread your post. Sorry!

Note to self: Drink coffee and let it absorb before morning postings.

When filling out the form on the first page it asks for case number, a-number (that's easy) then it asks for last name and first name. It's a bit confusing because you think you should put the first and last name of the visa applicant but you find out later that it's the first and last name of the person who is paying the fee. Because the name field comes out under "Account Information" on the payment page. Then when you get your receipt it doesn't show the case number or a number on it. Leaves it all a bit confusing. I paid so I entered my name, hope that was correct?

I'm totally confused now. I learned from my wife that I need to pay $165 for her and another $165 for her daughter to receive their green cards after they receive their US visas. They are scheduled to fly to JFK next Tuesday and we're still waiting for the passports/visas to be mailed to them. They should arrive by this Wednesday. I've followed the link provided in this string to the Pay.gov web site and I created a new account, but now I can't find anywhere to pay. I looked at the forms listed alphabetically. I also looked at all agencies. Where do I pay the $165? Do I need to wait for the visa/passports to be mailed to me first and they will include instructions? The information is very lacking on this payment, even on this web site.

Nevermind. I think I was on the wrong payment web site. I went to a USCIS web site and created an account there. I believe I'll have to wait for information in the visa package to proceed with payement. Thank you!

ya, it's a bit different now - you want the ELIS site...

FWIW, not need to pay immediately - can even pay after POE ..

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
