Hello everyone! I just wanted to ask for advice regarding processing a green card.

I went to an immigration lawyer last week and felt really depressed. The lawyer told me that I have very very low chance of getting a green card because of my work. I am a pre-school teacher, trained here in the US and worked for 5 years.

Is it a hopeless case for me? Any lawyers you can recommend? Thank you.

Moved from work visas to adjustment of status from work visas as the OP is not applying for a work visa but wants to apply for adjustment of status to obtain a green card.

This website is a do-it-yourself website, you wont find many people that have used lawyers. Quite a few people use this website because they are doing this by themselves or because a lawyer messed up their application and they have to try and fix it or start over on their own.

As other said, you need to be petitioned by employer. You will not find one here, so no one really can tell you if it's hopeless or not.
