Now I feel bad for taking my time to mail the application 2.5 years ago :( I did mail on Dec 14 , could have done it 2 days sooner .

This also messes up our vacation plans that was supposed to be on May. Hopefully the interview will be begining of the May and they will not hold his passport for more than couple days.

1 day makes you wait one more month.

And for us 1 month more waiting because of stupid 3 weeks movement

Think of it this way, Steve: it's a blessing that the cut-off date moved three weeks. Had it moved less or not at all, you might have two or three month's wait ahead of you. Right now, you have a good chance to be current in May.

My F2A/IR-1 journey:

USCIS:
4 August 2011: I-130 sent (while husband permanent resident)
8 August 2011: Priority date
16 April 2013: NOA2

NVC:

7 May 2013: Case number received, DS-3032 sent

15 May 2013: AOS bill received and paid

16 May 2013: AOS package sent

17 May 2013: DS-3032 accepted

20 May 2013: IV bill received and paid

21 May 2013: IV package sent

11 June 2013: response to IV checklist sent

13 June 2013: Case upgraded to CR1

2 July 2013: Case completed

28 August 2013: Interview - approved!

21 September 2013: POE

18 November 2013: Green card received

My husband's citizenship journey:

8 February 2013: N-400 sent
4 March 2013: Biometrics
24 April 2013: Interview
12 June 2013: Oath ceremony

When they say the future movement could be 3-5 weeks but then in reality moving only up to the minimum date then why can't they just say that for next 3 months, the movements will be only by 3 weeks. Why to give someone false hopes. One week here and there matters a lot when you are so close to your PD.

Sky, it's not false hope & until we realize that F2A has different capabilities (or categories) then we will always complain.

The 3-5 weeks is in general to all the categories so F2As in china, India may move 5 wks while all other counties move 3. It's just how the system works.
