Hello again everyone,

Here's a quick one. Just need everyone's experiences or if they've heard from anyone:

After the interview is complete and they retain your passport and say that we'll courier it to you without giving a definitive answer if the visa is approved. Has anyone received a passport back without a Visa stamp ?? Note that we were not issued any forms (212 or 221 or anything) Any consulate, anywhere......??

Thanks again!

Sachin

If they have retained your passport and you were not given any additional "deliverables" then that is a GOOD thing! They need your passport to put the visa in. They really have no business retaining your passport if you have not been approved!

YMMV

I agree they would not keep the passport unless they will process it. Now the timing of when you get it back depends on if they are doing any AP and the turn around from your embassy. Good luck and hopefully not too much longer and you will have your visa in hand.

Sorry to make you nervous but my fiance's passport was taken, he was told all the paperwork looked fine and that his passport would be couriered back to him. It was couriered back to him a MONTH later with a 221(g) saying that our case had expired and was sent back to the DHS. When I called the Embassy (New Delhi) freaking out they said there was nothing they could do now because they physically did not have the paperwork anymore. We are reapplying.

I think this is a crazy rare situation though and I have not heard of anyone else having this type of problem though!

They took my fiance's passport, did fingerprinting, issued a 221g but did not want any additional info. It has been 2 months of AP and we are still waiting. On 2 different dates they have sent someone to his home to talk to family and/or neigbors. And they do not provide any information when we call to inquire how things are progressing.

But cshell did they check off AP or Admin review or anything like that on the 221 (g)? It just cannot be a blank 221 ?! or was it?

Thanks!

On page 1 "Section 221g" is marked off. On page 2 under Required Documents "Further Administrative processing" is checked off and that is it. Yes it was blank - they are asking for nothing. Rather they checking on his fingerprints and send people to his home and do whatever else they are doing but not sharing with us. They have not asked for anything. When he had the interview they said two weeks. After the 2 weeks they told us nothing. Then 3 weeks ago they said 2 weeks again and at that 2 week mark they sent someone to the house and we are being patient at the moment waiting for the home and neighbor report to be shared with the embassy. So in a week we will inquire again if we do not hear anything.
