I-864 q15 - Which country should I write?

Hi,

My wife (the petitioner) and I are living abroad. As suggested in the guide and the instructions, we're attaching a letter showing the steps taken in order to show my wife's intention to reestablish domicile in the US. However, our question is - what should we actually write in section 15 - 'Country of Domicile'?

On one hand, it is implied that any answer other than 'USA' disqualifies the citizen from being a sponsor, which is mandatory. On the other hand, the reality is that my wife has been living in Israel her entire life, and as mentioned in the letter - is now taking steps to reestablish her domicile.

We're a bit confused by this, so we'd appreciate any assistance.

There is quite a lot of space for that answer, so you could write down "Intending to reestablish domicile in USA - see attached letter"
