Hi there VJ Members,

If my visa approved for the I-130 .I need to know when can i start process to petition my parents ? or how long should i wait before they can actually come to the US? Any info much appreciated from our end.

You need to become a US citizen first, which will take 3+ years. Then you can petition them and for them to get a visa will take another year or so, so plan on about 5 years form you leaving Phils to them arriving in the USA.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

Thanks for the info very appreciated.Anyway i had one quick question for you,i am a I-130 Filer and more than 5 years marriage...how long should i wait to become citizen eventhough i am over 5yrs married and file for I-130.., i thought as soon i arrived to the US i am automatic citizen since for more than 5yrs married? is it true? ...

That's false info. Marrying a US citizen (even for how long) doesn't automatically grant you US citizenship.

You have to be: (1) residing in the US, (2) a green card holder, and (3) married to the same US citizen spouse for at least 3 years before you can qualify for Naturalization.
