AHH, I love Locked Up Abroad! There's another show whose name I forget about people who go abroad on vacation and come home to find out they've picked up some terrifying disease (brain eating worms, flesh eating bacteria, etc) while in the other country. My mom watches it and always calls me to give me warnings: "You stay out of rivers down there! Don't eat any of the street food!"

We only watch TV through our Roku box, so we don't watch anything live as it is airing, but the shows we are keeping up with at the moment are:

--Parks and Recreation

--Modern Family

--Family Guy

--Colbert Report

We're also working through the backlog of Community and waiting for new free episodes of Bunheads to become available. When he's busy elsewhere, I also enjoy Supernanny and Dance Moms, and when I'm not around, he is all over anything with politics, crime, intrigue, and explosions (yawn).

I came home with something like that from the Philippines one time! I was actually watching that program and worrying about the painful sore on my leg, which made me worry even more. I still have the preserved critter I accidentally smuggled back into the USA inside my leg, as a reminder to be more careful abroad. BTW the show as called Monsters Inside Me, is it still running?

 Oh jeez, what a nightmare! My husband tells me about different kinds of critters that people pick up around here (it's gets more of a "meh" reaction from locals, whereas I freak out) but luckily I've never gotten anything. I watch it once in a while but programming in South America is always behind that of the USA. I'm not sure if it's on at home anymore. Great show, though! Super creepy :P

Oh yes! love being human!

I could not get into the UK one, probably because I saw the US one first and right away when I started the first uk episode I was like NONONONONO THATS NOT HOW IT IS!

Personally enjoying this season so far.

Do you watch the UK or US version of Being Human? My husband and I love that show, but we're only on season 2.

I watch the US version. I didn't even know there was a UK version until I had gotten into the US version.

Hardcore Pawn Chicago?

More like Softcore Pawn Snoozetown

This show is so lame I can't make it through a 22 minute episode.

So sad because I was excited when I saw it (being from chicago and all).

My husband and I watched the first episode of each and decided to watch the US version. Apparently the UK version is quite good as well, but now that I'm used to the characters in this one, I can't get into the other.

Yes yes, so everyone is like me.

Also, I don't know what it is, but all UK shows always seem to be low quality or something.

Idk, it's just weird to me. And then their accents start to bug me.

I can watch dr who though. I'm okay with that.

It also seems like a higher budget show.

Rightfully so.

I guess I assumed the story line would be the same. So which ever version I identified with, the other would seem a poor substitute for. Kind of like remakes of movies I loved. Sometimes its a good thing, but too close together and it seems like a poor copy cat version.

I loooove Parks and Rec. You will love Community, too. So excited that the new season just started!

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

I'm so sad we can't get BBC channels over here (no BBCA is not quite the same). I don't want stupid weight loss advertising to come on while I'm shoving my face full of food.

I definitely do not download shows for this reason. Definitely.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.
