When we were apart by geography (not work, that's a different story), I used to cry buckets with "Home" by Michael Buble.

It just described what I felt. I wanted to be home with him. This part of the song applies to him though, not me...

And I know just why you could not

Sigh. When he asks my opinion on his career and the changes in location every 3 to 4 years it entails, I always say "I'm fine with going anywhere, as long as we will have a home together."

Other favorite songs of mine to listen to when we're apart are Explosions in the Sky's "Your Hand in Mine" and Sigur Ros' "Hoppipolla".. the former doesn't have lyrics. The latter has Icelandic gibberish for most part. It's post-rock music. But, I always listen to these songs when he is away from me, thinking how happy I feel when I finally hold his hands in mine.
