So today I received a RFE, after already receiving NOA2. Listed on the front page is my fiance and I's names, but on the back where it tells us what to send it says a completely different name. I'm so frustrated, I don't know if our case is on hold or not, and I talked to a woman at the USCIS, but she said it could take up to 15 days to get a response to fixing the problem. Has this ever happened to anyone before? I know the items listed on this RFE are things that we had already sent..

I would just check the status of the petition over the phone and online to be sure, and keep checking with NVC to see if they've received your case yet and issued a number.

Sounds to me as if you've been given someone else's RFE. Did you talk with a second tier customer service agent? The first person you get don't appear to have access to any case information, and only hand out canned answers, or submit canned inquiries for you which result in canned "wait longer" answers. But one thing I did learn when we did our K1, is they can and do loose documents you send. We got an RFE for items that were included originally in our original petition. You could always make an infopass appointment and find out for sure.

Update: After talking to the USCIS yesterday, I got an email back from them.

It stated as follows:

The status of this service request is:

We have corrected the error on our systems. We apologize for the error on your notice and any inconvenience it may have caused you.

Also, we no longer have this petition as it was sent to the National Visa Center (NVC).

Future inquiries should be sent to the address below:

Attn: CB

Department of State National Visa Center (NVC)

Portsmouth, NH 03801-2909

So the NOA2 was real and we're on to the next step. I'm so excited and glad there was an end to this confusion. Thank you everyone for your help and support!

Excellent news for you! Probably not good news for whoever was supposed to get the RFE. I hope they still get their copy in a timely manner.
