well like every other resident if they are caught in gangs or committing crimes they should be thrown out..

And I tend to think the gang involvement, much like the students' immigration status, was an assumption on the part of the Principal. And we all know what happens when you ASSume.

I think a lot of people have seen areas being overrun by Hispanic gangs. I forgot the stats but I remember seeing how a large portion of felons in CA are of Hispanic origin or illegal immigrants, one of the two.. lets not even talk about all of the drug trafficking that is going on by groups like MS-13..

Let's also not foget the racist judicial system. Money gets you everywhere, including out of jail. the representation of minorities in CA prisons, in fact in any US prison is not representative of the % of those groups who commit crime. You must live in a lovely bubble.

"A Clayton County high school principal who told a group of Hispanic students they could face deportation if they caused trouble in school has agreed to step down at least through the end of the semester. . . . On Friday, superintendent Pulliam was at Forest Park to announce the move and talk to staff about school climate at the district's most culturally diverse high school. Forest Park is 60 percent black, 20 percent Hispanic, 9 percent Asian and nearly 8 percent white. Systemwide, Hispanics make up 12.8 percent of the district's enrollment. . . .Invoking immigration officials appears to violate the spirit of a 1982 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that guarantees immigrant students, including illegal immigrants, the right to attend k-12 public schools. Under the ruling, known as Plyler vs. Doe, schools are barred from seeking information about a students' legal status or taking other action that could "chill" an immigrant student's right to attend school."

With all this "should we build a wall" or "we need the illegal workers" debate there is one simple fact that is ignored. The USA has the right and obligation to protect it's borders and to know who is coming in. It isn't racist or zenophobic. It's just protecting the integraty and security of our country. It would be irresponsable to do anything less.

In my opinion if it werent so easy for illegals to stay in America they might not be so apt to come here.

I know the children need an educaton blah blah blah but if they weren't allowed to go to school without proof of citizenship or legal residency, would the parents be so gung ho to come here?

The laws need to be changed not only for the worker program but to make it easier to report and deport illegals, so that the ones that are here are going thru the (pain in the ###) process like the rest of us.

All of that is out of the question now. The mass amnesty for all the illegals is on the way as soon as the Democratic 110th Congress is in session. This is Bush's silver lining to the defeat. When folks "threw the bums out" they also threw out the only protection we had from mass illegal alien amnesty...the House Republican majority. They alone prevented the mass amnesty of the US Senate's S.2611 and the President's amnesty agenda for his business buddies in 2006.

My only hope is that the new flood of 2007 from this givaway sell-out reward makes its way to John Dean's Vermont and Teddy Kennedy's Massachusetts. It would be sweet if these clowns' chickens finally come to roost. It's great to be a liberal when you don't have to live with the consequences of stupid policies. Unlike the border states that live with it daily.

When the rest of the country feels the pain of masses of illegal aliens landing in their communties...maybe reality will rule instead of bleeding hearts, political demagogary, and greed. Dumping poverty and crime into communities has a way of getting people upset. Cheap labor and cheap votes are only cheap for the politicians because they don't pay...we do!

Lest we forget...the Congress passed the fence bill, but it hasn't appropriated money to build it. Just like they passed the mass illegal alien amnesty of 1986 and failed to appropriate the money to enforce the tough (ha! ha!) laws to prevent more illegal immigration. The American people are so stupid.

Yup I've had plenty of Hispanic friends most were fellow Marines! Where we're taught we are all green, light green, dark green, and all bleed red!!

As far as how much a wall would cost? Illegal immigrants are costing this country BILLIONS in health care, schooling etc. Not to mention the Drug war going on at the border!! The murders! the Gang problems!!

Build a wall like Israel is!!! We're funding them! I just don't like where they are building that wall. They should put it on the border of the West Bank and Gaza not all through it. But they want more land!!
