Just wanted to pop in and say hello. I am Canadian and my fiance is from Texas. We are getting ready to file our K1 application and I am getting antsy. We were initially going to go through the Canadian Immigration but have hit a bit of a roadblock. Nothing that can't be cleared up but it will take a few years to do so. So I start my journey to the US and I am looking forward to it. We may hit another snag in trying to get my ex to agree to my youngest coming, but She wants to, and he isn't overly cooperative on anything. My other two children are wanting to stay in Canada to finish school and such as one is in Highschool, and I can't blame her for not wanting to change now. The other is my son and I can understand my son wanting to live with his father.

But I am rambling. I would love to hear from others just starting their trip through US Immigration.

03/03/2015 - Apparently we are still within normal processing times and need to wait 87 days

04/27/2015 - RFE - Renew medical, Send some other documents

05/04/2015 - Medical redone

05/07/2015 - RFE request sent back to USCIS

05/08/2015 - RFE request received at USCIS

05/11/2015 - Green card IN PRODUCTION!!!!

05/11/2015 - Welcome letter Mailed!

05/14/2015 - Welcome Letter Received

05/18/2015 - Green Card Received!! FINALLY!!!!

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

We started the end of January and received the NOA1 and the "alien number change" this month. He is coming from Wales. The hardest part about this has been seeing some of the SUPER fast NOA2s even for normal cases (like ours)... and realizing it's just luck when that happens. I figure we'll hear something in August.

1/31/13 - 129F Sent
2/7/13 - NOA1
** transferred with 2nd group from VSC to TSC in late June
7/9/13 - NOA2 (5 months)
8/16/13 - Shipped from TSC
9/11/13 - Packet 3
9/19/13 - Forms sent in.
9/24/13 - Medical Done
9/27/13 - CEAC Status Update
10/02/13 - DS-260 mailed in
10/15/13 - CEAC Status Update (DoS couldn't say what triggered it, did say no interview assigned, but all docs are in)
10/23/13 - Embassy email states they do not have our documents. Poor Steven does 160 again.
10/23/13 - DoS says our case is still "processing" and not "qualified" (interview ready) and to do newest forms.
11/05/13 - CEAC Update. DoS says case is "eligible for interview" and we're waiting on next interview date.
11/08/13 - Another call to DoS (Chris is a nice guy!) and no interview scheduled yet.
11/12/13 - Another call to DoS and no interview scheduled yet.
11/13/13 - Email from Embassy to Steven informing him that his interview is TOMORROW.
Hurray for Patron Saint of Immigrants - Mother Cabrini's Feast Day!
11/14/13 - INTERVIEW --- APPROVED!!!!!
11/19 & 11/20 - CEAC date update, but still at "Ready".
11/21 - CEAC Creation Date & Notice Changed.

11/27 - DoS Shipment Notice (email) in AM. Pickup ready email sent in PM.

12/15/13 - Arrival in US. POE: JFK. (Heathrow - JKF - Richmond, VA by evening)

Hooray, I'm pretty sure this is my first post on the site. Been around for a while just sitting back and researching before we sent ours off. Today's finally the day! Already gotten paranoid thoughts we forgot something despite checking it, double checking it, triple checking it, then checking it two more times. So us people are looking at roughly mid-August, as current estimates show, right? That's unfortunate. I'm hoping I can be over in the U.S by Christmas, I think it's a realistic goal..possibly! Anyway, rambling.

Yeah, definitely. I'm not sure if the forums are useful, in terms of getting help from experienced people, it's amazing, but in terms of being optimistic and making the wait feel shorter, it's full of people complaining about how slow the service centers are going and how they're only going slower, with the odd optimistic post about them maybe speeding up. It makes the process more intimidating than it needs to be.

We hope that after the President's Day with the Special Naturalization Ceremonies they will work quicker. :)

It's possible, I'm not sure. But then, I'm not very informed on the subject so I wouldn't know.
