I know, every time I call them they tell me something I already know... I feel like USCIS customer service is for people who don't have internet access or don't know how to use them. One thing you can do is make an appointment with infopass and talk to your local immigration officer, they should give you more detail on the status of your case. GOOD LUCK

Last week they were saying they were working on July 31. Call back and talk to someone else and you will probably get a different answer. I would call 3 times in a row to ask a question and I would get 3 different answers. Take your conversations with USCIS with a grain of salt. Calling them is not much help for your sanity!

From what I read here, the date they show is the latest petition. It could be a difficult case, or maybe they are waiting for RFE, but point is that they are not showing the most recent date in the system, but the latest. I am not sure if I got it correctly, but it my head it makes sense.

They do hit spurts and update at different times. Wait until 180 days then call and ask for a Service Request. Most likely they will then inform you that you're not out of their "normal time" schedule for NOA1. They will then give you the date to call back. I did this at 194 days I believe. I never had to call back as they sent our NOA2 two weeks later (had to give them so lee-way as it was Holidays). When you call be very kind. Do not show frustrations. You can also ask for Tier 2 Supervisor if the person on the phone does not assist you like you want.

Good luck
