Are you still not able to file a service request? My NOA1 was August 14, and I was able to file a service request on Feb 13 (I tried every day until it finally let me).

I hear you on the frustration with "normal processing times". What does that mean? The "goal" is 5 months....so they are late now, and "normal processing times" are now 7 months? If it becomes even more delayed, does the definition of "normal processing times" change as well?

I too am getting frustrated and depressed. My NOA1 from CSC is July 26. I can't help but feel enraged when I see people in late August and September getting approved when there are so many in July like myself who haven't received a response or even a RFE. I wouldn't be as frustrated if it seemed that CSC was processing cases, but one or two NOA2s seem to trickle in each week - and often from later file dates. What further enrages me is calling CSC and not getting a straight answer. Talking to the customer service reps I get one response, talking to a Tier 2 gets me a contradictory response. The customer service reps told me that my application is within normal processing time still and that I could not do a service request. They said that they were processing July 18 still (which they have been saying for almost two months now?!? umm what? Sounds like it is a just a script/excuse) When I asked to speak to a Tier 2 representative, I was transferred to one, who said my application was NOT in normal processing time and that if I wanted I could submit a service request online. I told her what the previous person had said, she she said they were wrong. I told her I had heard of people trying to do the service request and not being permitted to go through with it (per other VJ posters with July dates), and she basically laughed at me and said that she had walked several people through the steps that day (though not saying if they were K-1 filers or not). I asked if my application had been "touched" and she said that of course it has been looked at because it is an ongoing process of reviewing the applications. She wouldn't give me a date of when my file was looked at. So after I got off the phone with her I tried to do the service request, and of course the system wouldn't let me, saying that I am still within normal processing time. I just want to know what is going on. Why such a delay? Why can't they give an estimate? Waiting wouldn't be so hard if I knew approximately how much longer I had or when I was going to receive a response! Every time I have called it is always "wait 3 weeks" or "wait a month" and then when I do and call back, it is just "wait another month." I can barely function at work and cry myself to sleep.

It's really hard. I'm still in the wait. It's been 8 months since we've seen eachother. We still don't have an interview date yet. It sucks because I figured that maximum it would take 7 months for us to be together...here we are still waiting. I know that Allah (God for some of you) has a purpose for all things and it will come when the time is right. I just pray that everyone who has a legitimate case get approved soon and for this wait to be over. I hope for some sort of legislature or change in the process so that these things get sped up. Please god let all of us who are waiting to be with our loved ones be reunited with them quickly. Pray for eachother. I know that praying for eachother will help. Allah (God for those of you who are not muslim) will see that we are not being selfish and help us. Just keep on believeing.

It's very tough and EXPENSIVE. God knows my phone bills are killing me and unfortunately the country my fiance lives in doesnt have dependable internet or even energy for that matter so often the only way I can contact him is through calling him. The time difference is terrible, when it's day here it's night there and vice versa. Unfortunately I'm just another normal middle class person that can't afford to go spend months or even weeks in a different country. I need to work to afford to live so...until he comes it's just waiting.

Just pray pray pray and continue to support eachother. It will be okay! Atleast you have someone you love in your life, think of those that have noone. There are always those that are less fortunate, pray for them and help them and your journey will be easier.

I haven't tried to file a service request since some time last week. Either way, it seems pointless to file a service request. I've seen other people on VJ with similar NOA1 dates as me who filed a service request recently and when they finally got a response, all it said was that they were still within normal processing times, that CSC was overwhelmed with petitions and that they should wait 120 days (!!!!) before filing another inquiry.

Yeah who knows what "normal processing time" means. I originally thought it was the 5 months goal/average that they posted for average CSC processing time (well, now it has been changed to 5.5 I believe). But it seems to be the national average between the two centers of 7.9 months (though how VSC with a average of 6.1 and CSC with an average of 5.5 together becomes an average of 7.9 months makes NO SENSE to me)

USCIS California Service Center Closed Due to Plumbing Issues

On Monday, March 25, 2013, some customers were notified of delivery delays to the USCIS California Service Center (CSC). The delays were the result of a temporary closure of CSC due to plumbing issues. The CSC will remain closed on Tuesday, March, 26, 2013. Deliveries will resume once CSC reopens. We are continuing to monitor the situation and will provide updates as they become available.

And it just keeps getting worse :(

Don't think that people that have waited a lot longer aren't going through the same pain... it is almost intolerable... but it is the 'almost' that is what keeps you going. Just find things to do... each day is a new challenge but you will be ok (F)

God bless and help us all -I pray for everyone in this situation...

Every morning i wake up praying for that text message .... I day dream about the moment i know we are approved - I see myself giddy with glee and making that call to him giving him the good news...I already have my second binder filled with all our proof from my last trip.... and dreaming of the most gloriuos moment when his interview date is set and the real countdown begins.....

what a test of patience this is - my god people have no clue how blessed they are to be together and how much they take for granted each day..

Today is 4 months since recieving our NOA1 - guess I just need to vent.... somedays I get so down in the dumps..just feel so helpless and the distance is really taking its toll... I read about others who have gone thru the process and are finally together and it helps for the moment - but than im back to the wait... our typical conversation is " I miss you " - " I miss you more" - " I love you " - "I love you more"....

Just want him here..... I know I sound like a baby :( its just so hard being apart...

I should just count my blessings in having this love - this amazing man - the four times I got to travel to Jordan and be with him...

back to work ....

VSC is pumping out the NOA2's at the moment and they say 5 months now for processing time. Lucky you.

Any way I can transfer my petition to VSC from CSC? Haha!
