The wait it's hard too hard, I would say. I relate myself to these words as well. I waited 6 long months for that NOA2, and waiting again until this AP can be removed. But be encouraged hopefully soon you will get your NOA2...

I'd say mentally plan for a 10 month wait but I've been told that may be extreme. You well under the timelines so keep up the communications and keep waiting.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

Agreed, 10 months is a good estimate. Try to find something to do with your time. One thing I have done is watch a movie each night. If you have amazon prime account, many of the movies are free, that covers a couple hours of the day. Call your friends and go out together. Sitting in front of the computer waiting for word from USCIS is painful. Go for a long walk, start planning your life together-I do not mean in the bedroom but in real life. Look up english courses, look into public transportation so he is not stuck at home while you work, look for others in the area from same country or a church that fits his religion, go there now to get a feel for the church, etc.

Yes! Having your mind occupied is the best, for me personally the hardest are the weekends because am home all day. Only people that are going through this know that this is not easy.

Nahh.. You sound like one longing to be reunited with the other part of you. Play some games online, be competitive, watch movies together, bring the computer out to the kitchen and make dinner instead of only sitting down and only talking. Loads more to do with a computer! I enjoyed/endured my then-fiance's changing tires/chain/oil/complaining on his mc, setting tents up with his son and what not. My then-fiance was dragged with me on my inliners throughout miles and miles (skype on phone on wheels, it's quite an adventure). It at least lightened up a few of our days apart.

It becomes trivial because you probably are like the rest of us that forget a world outside the computer monitor that can be compined with the one person overseas.

:)

thank you all for the tips ... I cannot explain how much I hate living on Viber-Whatsap-Skype etc - at night i just go back and re read all our converstations - I save all of them - I watch the movies him and I both love - I watch the videos we made of us just playing and being silly... I go over our photos - go back in my mind and relive all the amazing moments we shared ... hug my pillow - pray for patience - hope and strength and wake up the next morning to his.

messages...

And the video calls that make my heart melt and my smile muscles hurt.....I just love him and would travel to the other end of the world for one hug...

Thank god I found this site and can read others stories - its so hard for someone not going thru this to relate.....

4 months down - 5 or 6 to go.......

I promised him I would be strong .... and I will be ... somehow I will be..

I promised him I would be strong .... and I will be ... somehow I will be..

Yep. Somewhow. Strength sometimes comes from odd places.

We both have music as a passion so it came rather natural to just doodleling around on guitars. I know my husband otherwise would've missed having seen me smiling, laughing, debating, chilling, - all the feelings you'd show when being in the same room. Remember that's why you're together.. Because it's ALL of each other you need, not just fractions of each other.

Sometimes even the smallest of things were wonderful. Stephen turned his camera around to the monitor and had his hand on my face on the monitor. Totally melted my heart. In a good way. Right now, after having been in the same country for 1½ years, I still call him up on skype to remind him(we sit about 3 feet from eacher when on the computers).

Cheer up - at the end of the road, you'll have a husband by your side and hopefully happy to have endured months of not seeing each other. Sometimes, that helps to build a stronger relationship.

Hi, just wanted to let you know that, I too, know what you are going through. As other posters said, you are not alone, be strong. One thing that I do with my husband while on skype (on the cell phone): I let my son hold the cell phone with the camera on while I am driving. My husband loves to see the area where we will be living together. And when I go grocery shopping, I turn on the camera and walk around the store so he can see everything that I am doing and buying. His common reaction is "where are all of the people" lol. Because I live in a kind-of a small town and ... well, you know Egypt has about a billion people... hahaha.

Hang in there your love will be with you soon.

I remember telling myself, "What's 5 months apart for a lifetime together." Of course, I had to keep changing the number of months, but I just kept reminding myself how great it would be in the end.

And in the end, it's all worth it. Now, after finally being together, I honestly don't even remember how difficult the wait was.

Hang in there.
