My husband and i were married in october and were expecting our first child in june but we have concerns regarding his interview with the embassy because he was married before in 2008 and his wife passed away while the petition was in the nvc stage of the process then he met his ex girlfriend in 2009 and they started the process for a fiance visa but it was canceled at the uscis stage now we have filed an i130 and are wondering if this will be a problem for us

All depends on whether or not he has a good case and reasons as to why he filed 3 times in the past 3 years (2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012). The first cancellation is reasonable. He just needs to show the death certificate, I'm sure. The petition involving his ex-girlfriend combined with the petition involving you so close together seems a little strange. It might cause a red flag to go up in the adjudicator's mind. Perhaps if he has a good explanation, he can get by this road block.

I have to admit, it seems a little fishy to me. But I don't know the whole situation. It must also seem that way to you, too, since you're concerned about it.

I was wondering when you would show up.

Your husband's English skills are very poor. In our opinion, you are facing an uphill battle and will require a lot of evidence of a bonafide relationship/marriage. It will probably also help for you to attend the Embassy interview, as I told your husband in the above mentioned thread. He definitely can't do this without you.

Yes your correct that is my husband. I have read the answers he was given and i truly appreciate the advice of some of the people who posted to his topic and will follow some of the advice that was given. Even though my husbands written english may be lacking he does speak it very well along with a few other languages. If by chance his interview is scheduled while im still able to fly or is after our daughter is born i will be there for it. I appreciate your advice on that sarah and adnan.

I wish you and your family all the best dear.

By the way, it took my fiance years to get fluent in writing English. Even after college and grad school in the US I still correct his grammar on paper sometimes. Once in a blue moon he still confuses P and B.

Just curious - it doesn't concern you that he's had so many relationships with American women? And then his response in the other thread about never getting tired of trying to get to the U.S. That would freak me out to be honest.

No i have no concerns about my husband using me for just a greencard. I know him very well and i know he truly loves me. His first wife passed away and he is the one who canceled the application for the fiance visa. And it was misunderstood what he was saying because of his English writting skills he was saying he never tried to get here meaning he canceled both applications. We share every aspect of our lives together and have much proof because of that. Hes on our home our cars insurance from my job every bill that we get is in both our names we have shared banking life insurance policies and so much more. I also have a very good relationship with my husbands family.

That's good. Sometimes these things happen. As long as he has a good reason for the applications and can prove a bona fide relationship with you, I think he'll be fine. Good luck on your journey! :)

Though, I do know that deep inside you know what kind of objections an adjudicator would make, here's to hoping you're able to answer all objections adequately! :D

PS - make sure not to tell anyone that he's "using you for just a greencard." It makes it sound like your romantic relationship isn't real.

My advice-- work on possible common questions and bump up his comprehension. A lot of times people sort of think they understand more than they really do-- and by the time you realize they actually don't get you, they are so far out in left field it can be problematic. Good luck!

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

How did you pull that off? If your husband hasn't been to the US before how does he have a credit score that would qualify him to be jointly responsible for car and house payments? Unless you own both outright and just added him to the deed/owners document? If that's the case then they may not view that positively. They may view it suspiciously - like you're giving half of everything over to a man you haven't lived with yet. Also how did you get him on your insurance? Most insurance carriers require social security numbers and proof of US residency for 6 months.

Where did you get this information from? It's not true. He merely needs an insurable interest, which he has if he's married to or in common law relationship with the owner/tenant of the property.

Maybe it's not true. I should rephrase and say that was our experience. We were not going to br able to put my husband on my work insurance until he was here. When he got here we enrolled him in insurance through a broker. That was travller's insurance for the first six months bc the broker couldn't get us regular (non travller's) until he was here for 6 months. When we got him regular insurance one of the questions asked was had he been a resident for at least 6 months. Maybe it varies state to state. But I would imagine the social security number issue would hold true for every state. No?

What kind of insurance are you referencing? Home owners/rental or health? I'm referring to health insurance.

Where did you get this information from? It's not true. He merely needs an insurable interest, which he has if he's married to or in common law relationship with the owner/tenant of the property.

Are you talking about health insurance or home owners/rental? I'm talking about health insurance as she mentioned he's on her work insurance.
