Oh probably sometime around June this year or so. If you're at the end of July, then probably around October. Assuming the rate of 1/4 month of work per month of waiting at VSC. That's being generous. But things can always change. They do sometimes. They could possibly speed up or slow down even more.

Our PD is July 2 also at VSC and based on last 2 months speed we think we will get NOA2 sometime in April, hopefully early April.

I hate to burst peoples' bubbles, but this post doesn't make any sense to me. Let's assume VSC stays at their current rate. On December 4th, 2012 they updated their website that they were working on May 21, 2012 (this was updated from the original 5 months time frame posted). On January 4th, they updated the website that they were working on May 28th, 2012. And on February 5th they updated the website stating that they were working on June 4th, 2012.

So, according to the past 2 months of posts from USCIS website, the past 2 month's speed = 1 week of work/1 month of waiting.

Current Processing Date = June 4th, 2012.

Therefore (assuming the same rate of work from VSC),

on March 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on June 11th, 2012; and,

on April 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on June 18th, 2012; and,

on May 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on June 25th, 2012; and,

on June 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on July 2nd, 2012; and,

on July 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on July 9th, 2012; and,

on August 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on July 16th, 2012; and,

on September 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on July 23rd, 2012; and,

on October 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on July 30th, 2012; and,

on November 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on August 6th, 2012; and,

on December 5th, 2013, VSC should be working on August 15th, 2012; and,

on January 5th, 2014, VSC should be done with I-130 petitions sent up to August 15th, 2012.

Now, I understand some months are longer than others. I've just treated them all the same for this, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong in my reasoning, though.

Correct me if I'm wrong in my reasoning, though.

I think you are almost correct with this algorithm and you did a great work writing it down very clearly. Thanks.

I know each one of us is making a lot of calculations these days because we can not wait to see everything done as soon as possible.

I would consider that the current update, June 4th in our case, stands for December 31st (as they say on the website just before that table) not for February 5th. Their updates are with around a month behind current date, so I would take a month off for each line. Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong here.

Also I have a feeling that they approved more cases in January than in December. So I estimate, based on VJ users timelines that the next update, in early March, will be around June 14th which will stands for January 31st. At least I hope so!

Good point. Possibly shave a month off. Though, that would mean that we don't know their current processing rates.

Though, I'm not sure if the "as of" date actually has any relevance. I think it's there for compliance purposes, but in actuality it is fairly up to date. Since, USCIS constantly tells callers asking for service requests that their current processing times are (insert "as of" processing date here). That's my take on it, but could be wrong on that. I would prefer it if you were right, though.

One possible bright spot, though, is that if you look at their trend chart, they received way more applications in May than they did in June and July, and this was part of a high volume trend in which they received more applications in March through May than they had been receiving in previous months or following months, which contributed to the slow down. So while they've been processing approximately a week a month for the last few months (and also over the holiday season beginning with Thanksgiving in November), I have some hope that they will begin to speed up slightly because there are just fewer applications to get through, on the order of 500-1000 fewer per week.

The more frustrating thing at the moment is that they keep extending the expected processing times, so just when we reach it, they tell us the process will be longer, effectively removing our ability as "the customer" to contact them or a congressional rep to push for follow-up.

Good observation!

Another thing to take into account, though, (and I just thought of this) is that VSC is slowing down with their approval rate, too. Perhaps it'll all work out.
