Sla, good day everyone..,

Today i applied for visitor visa along with my i130 in process..,

Everything went fine the asked me few questions about how i met my wife and what was my previous job and correct.,

Then he asked me how long im going to stay in the u.s when you get your visa.., and which address im going to stay.., then we had friendly conversation related to the language (arabic) hen handed me my passport back along with a form which said : your application requires administrative processing. Now is that good or bad?

Any idea about this are highly appreciated

Since you had pending I-130, I doubt you will be approved for tourist visa because you are considered an intended immigrant. But pray for the best since you were not denied right away but your chances are very slim. You will probably be told to wait for the immigrant visa instead.

I know in Jordan, that if you cannot show strong ties proving you will return, you will not be granted a visitor visa. With an I-130 pending you have immigrant intent. There is no way to know how long AP will last. Did you tell them you have an I-130 pending? Do you have a job in Jordan? Do you own a home, property? Those are strong ties. Good luck!

AP is not good or bad, its just the background check they are going to put you thru.

My experience from this board is some AP comes back in 2 weeks and some takes as long as 2 months or more.

The good thing is that since CO was going to put you thru AP he has approved your visa if your visa was rejected he would not waste time on AP.

most AP for background checks last a minimum of 2 months, most longer. Some people are in AP 6 months, a year, and even longer. My Jordanian husband had AP for almost 3 months. Good luck!!!

this is true, if the CO was going to deny you he wouldn't bother with AP

Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days.

Does that mean its aprroved or not? Or what is it about.? Plz help

Is there a time limit for this process.? The problem is im moving to different country soon i applied 5th feb

It takes as long as it takes.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
