Hi everyone,

First, thanks so much to all of you for all the help... we love the stats! :)

I am a Canadian citizen, my fiance is from Colorado.

My question: We have just learned from our lawyer than instead of our I-129F going to the Nebraska service center it is going to the California service center because of delays. They are now processing May '06 applications. We sent ours in October '06 (received NOA1 November 6) and were hoping for around a 9 month turnaround total (wedding date set for August 2007).

Anyone have an opinion on whether this is a reasonable wait time? This first wait seems longer than initially thought and longer than a lot of the estimates say on this site. Let me know what you think.

Thanks!

Due to a regornization of USCIS, NSC and TSC no longer process fiance vias. Even though you are required to still submit to NSC or TSC, they will be transfered to California. Also recently USCIS posted new quidelines for processing times and they now give themselves a 6 month window to process the applications. In other words don;t call unless 6 months have passed. Most cases are now being done in less than 100 days. RFEs, secuirty checks and other unexpected things can extend that time.

Good luck on your journey. Hope its a speedy one (F)

He told you it got transferred to CSC because of delays? Not true, NSC & TSC are not processing I-129F presently and all cases are transferred automatically to CSC and this has been the situation for some time now.

The reported timelines as posted on the USCIS website are simply the trailing 6 month dates and are not accurate to reality. Te best thing to do is look at peoples timelines. CSC is getting close to turning most petitions in 75 - 90 days give or take. Once clear of CSC then you go to NVC for maybe 30 days. If you are using MTL for your interview then you are in for a bit of a wait for your interview.

Why in the world they don't update the instructions to have us send the petition to the right service center? I live in Oregon and it would've been a lot easier and faster to send my petition to California. I just sent it to Nebraska based on the instructions on USCIS website... I hope it will go to California SC soon.

9 Months turnaround? There are people that applied to Vermont service center and they had been approved in less than a month.....

Good luck!

It means the oldest petition still at CSC unfinished - for a variety of reasons - in from May. Posting that date is how they cover their azzes. But as everyone has said, turnaround has been faster lately. I would count on 90-120 days as realistic. Since you don't know when/where delays may happen, I would not set anything in stone regarding your wedding date. One never knows what kinds of delays or issues may come up.

p.s. we don't like when lawyers give incorrect information - I would call yours on this and find out if he really knows enough about the I-129F process to be worthy of your hard earned cash.

as of my daughter case, they start the process of there fiancee visa last OCT.10 i guess and the received a receipt not later than a week, and it is stated there than there application is forwarded to CVC,and needs to wait for 90 to 120 days for the approval,do you think guys this timeline is really fair?as i read a lot of case here they are in the process very quickly, some says depends on the visa center you are filiing your visa and fast visa center according to what ived read here is NEBRASKA,VERMONT,my daighters bf feel sad about this because he is living near to vermont and the lawyer pass the application in CVC,dont know how long does it takes there the process, because the are really new to this so they intrust a immigrant specialist to assist there fiancee visa.i always trying to figure it our many cases of the timeline but all are different, there are short and long time waiting, how does this happens?hoping you could give me some clarifications from anybody who does done there process, and i am happy to hear from you all....
