Is the underlined even technically correct? In order to be out of status, don't you have to have entered the country legally and then lost/overstayed your status? So that would apply to some, but not most, of the people he is talking about. Many of these people entered without ever gaining a status.

Democrats support this practice just as they supported slavery and the segregation of blacks. When they could no longer do that to blacks, they destroyed the black family to assure they would have little chance of success and changed immigraqtion laws in 1965 to be more liberal toward Mexicans. Democrats replaced one underclass with another.

Correct. I read some 40% of those currently in the country without status entered the country legally. I always thought that percentage was much, much smaller but apparently it is not. Doesn't change the fact that, as you say, most people never had a legal status they fell out of but I thought it would be as interesting to folks here as it was to me that such a large portion of unlawfully present people are overstays.
