OP's fiancee do have a TIN already which she used to open up a bank account. that was how I got my TIN too. Getting a BIR ID is not difficult especially that she already have a TIN. NSO Birth Certificate and NBI clearance are just supporting document, she still need to have 1 Government Issued Picture ID.

I did not read she had TIN to open her bank account. Thanks for clarifying

Will a postal ID work? She can carry her birth cert and other IDS to the post office and get a postal ID. Or Social Security ID , they can issue them at the SS office

Hello,

Whe I applied my passport, I was a walked in applicant like her. I went there early(DFA Cebu) Fall in line and got my priority number. I have only my 2 Id's with me. My school ID and My government Id. But, I brought NBI, NSO birth certificate and Police clearance. So no hassles, they just took my my NBI, NSO and police clearance and ask one Id. So I showed my school id. SO that's it! I'paid the express which is 1,200 pesos( you can choose there is also 950 pesos for normal processing). Only one day and everything is fine. Then I just have to wait for my passport to release. So I got my passport last August 2, 2012. U don't need to have an appointment schedule just go directly to the DFA site and applied there. She should go there early coz there is limited numbers to be given.

Would a postal id be a Gov. ID ? She lost hers when she was robbed while going to the DFA in Tacloban . Should be easy enough to apply for a replacement I would think .

Postal ID is considered. It's still a valid ID. In fact, one of the girls there who just applied passport the same day with me. She only showed her postal ID. All I can advice is, bring with her the following:

NBI, Police clearance, and NSO Birth certificate. She will be approved with these. Nothing further to answer your queries.

Yes you can use the Postal ID for the BIR ID. Bring also NSO birth certificate.

Can any of you who have gotten the BIR Digitized ID please clarify the process. Im in a similar boat. My wife has a TIN already but when she went to BIR regional office they said they dont do the digitized ID? She cant get any other ID that is accepted for DFA, so its our only option at this point that doesnt involve waiting 6 months. Anyone else confirm if postal ID has worked for them? I know its not on the list but it maybe is worth a shot also.

When I was on getting my passport my agency asked me 2 Ids or NSO Birth Certificate or NBI clearance and took only a photocopy of them.. and pay them 2,000 and they're the one who set me an appointment in dfa..

when she's there at DFA bldg.

she'll need atleast 1 ID with picture and atleast 3 supporting documents, black ballpen, money, do not wear earrings, must be in formal or wear with collar (do not wear white color..

Hi! I applied for my passport last July and here are the infos I can share. You should set an appointment. I brought the original NSO copy of my birth certificate and NBI clearance. They asked me for an additional ID, but I'm not a student nor employed so they just ask if I have an old company ID (fortunately I have one). In my case, postal ID was not accepted.

As for the digitized TIN card... I went to the BIR office in Pasig to get a TIN card (also last year), but the one I got was made out of brown cardboard instead of the digitized card. This got me confused so I had to ask the clerk if that is the new one and she said yes. The digitized ID was an old one according to her and that the one that I got is the new one. DFA didn't honor the cardboard-type TIN card.
