Hi Everyone,

First a huge "salamat" from Joan and me. We would be going nuts if it wasn't for the wonderful support here. Joan and I are waiting for our NOA2 (sorry I don't know how to attach our timelines but the NOA1 date is October 15, 2012--engagement date is October 3, 2012!). Joan has had nothing but problems with her birth certificate. First they had her mother's name wrong and she had to file to get it fixed (3 1/2 months!). She just got the revised birth certificate and has an appointment to get her passport on February 12th. She just wrote to me and said: "I checked my birth certificate last night before I sleep have another problem they put x on the type of birth three or more it means triplet what do you think the DFA look for it...?"

Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Is it a problem? Is there an "easy" fix or are we in for another 4 month delay?

Thank you SO much!

Mahalo/Salamat!

my wife is at the NSO in Quezon fixing hers She had a stay mark by male and a bold X on female.

She had an attorney write a letter, and get an affidavit, and a corrected copy to submit.

She went and submitted it, and paid the fee's and was told it would take 2 weeks.crying.gif

So I called the Director of the NSO from California, and was told to have her go to the NSO on Vibal Bldg. and see the Care officer on the 4th flr.

She has yet to let me know what happened.

Update: I called the Philippine Consulate and they do not think it is a major problem!!! The big thing is that her name and date of birth are correct. She said that if we want then Joan can have her parents write a statement saying that there is a discrepancy and that she was a single birth and have it notarized!

I am so new to this that I don't even know what that means. Do I understand that two different birth certificates were issued and now you are in court to see which one is valid? UGH...I'm sorry.

Hi..when I requested NSO for my bc ( college requirement),it was negative. I reported and showed NSO negative result to our LCR . I filed late BC registration, that was they wished me to do. After a month,I requested again from NSO and I got it and used it for many years. Until last year when I requested 7 copies of my bc,they issued me differ bc, they said it was my first and original bc. I went to NSO legal assistance and she told me to hire an atty to cancel first bc coz late bc registered is what I am using till present. Two bc have same correct names but differ birth dates. WE paid atty 30 k on Oct. and after she presented it in court last December, she asked again additional 7 k for court employees. January is court inventory,so I follow-up this February for the decision. Pray for our journey..salamat po.
