Well the websight said the notice was mailed on dec 27 2012....and to follow any directions noted on the I-797c. As I dont know specifically if there was any "directions" Am I wasting time? OR......does the NVC send somthing in the mail to let you know what to do next.....like AOS...or whatnot..

Probably like a month after you get a case# you will get a email stating NVC assigned you a case#. That's why the NVC filers thread always says call.

If you were approved you should have been calling NVC after 1 week of NOA2 have you yet.

Why do you need a notice for anyway?

Well anyway call NOW soonest!! ;)

Also go to the NVC fcilers thread read Post #1 and #2 so u know what to do. ASAP.

whoa.

for a CR-1/IR-1 visa - the I-130 approval notice is never needed.

stop stressing.

if you wish to chase it down, in about 3 weeks, call into USCIS, get an ISO, and ask:

--Do you have any returned postal mail pieces on me?

If the answer is yes, go over the address with the ISO, giving the correct address on you.

Tape a name card inside of your postal box that has your name and yer spouse's name plus all derivations thereof.

Good Luck !

for Mondo Cool NVC Stuff,

You might want to verify your address the you gave them if you haven't received your NOA2 yet. I bet you same thing happen to you also.

My case.

Received approval on Jan 4, 2013.

Got NOA2 hardcopy Jan 11, 2013 in the mail.

When I received my I-797 it was saying BS stuff like my daughter is in the US already and should file for I-485(Adjustment of Status) <-- really really wrong. My daughter was never in the US.

Second paragraph reads that if my alien relative decides to apply for a visa outside US, that I need to file for I-824(Application for Action on an Approved Petition) <---same thing as topic starter.

So Jan 18, I called NVC and got told they don't have the case yet. I have to wait 15 BUSINESS days to submit an INQUIRY(really?).

Called USCIS Jan 28 to see ####### is going on. Got helped and they said they forwarded the case to NVC and should wait 30 days(wth!). I asked to them verify that they send my files to NVC and got a service request to get another NOA2 because apparently the NOA2 I originally received was a TYPO on their end. Hopefully I get the NOA2 soon and NVC case. But I will plan on bugging them since its already over 1month.

USCIS
11/06/13: Sent I-130 to Arizona Lockbox

Forgot to add.

Jan 31, 2013.

Emailed NVC Inquiry to find out what's going on. Scanned hardcopy of I-797 as attachment to email.

Feb 6, 2013

A minute before I typed this reply:) Called NVC and was told they have the case in the building, just waiting for it to be entered in the system. Hooray.

I am in the same situation, I received an NOA2 and I did not realize it was saying my wife will get adjustment of status as if she is here when she is not.

I called USCIS and the guy filed a service request and tol me to wait for a letter in 10-14 days.

Was this what they told you?

Thank you so much!
