Hey guys, I noticed a lot of people succesfully walked in for their biometrics , usually a week before the appointed date, I got my envelope today and I am scheduled for february 25th. Am I beeing too optimistic if I decide to go let's say first thing tomorrow morning :) ??? It's a little bit of a drive so I don't want to get unecessarily crazy :). Thanks

You can try. I don't think it makes any difference whether you do it the day after you get the letter or any other date. If it's a long drive do bear in mind that there's no guarantee of being allowed to do an early walk-in. I had no trouble with mine.

I'm going to say the same thing, you can try. But, I add more: lots of people say it does not going to speed up your application at all. But I can't say if this is 100% true. I did my biometrics when I was scheduled...I didn't see the point of hurrying over, and maybe get sent back...my time is too precious for taking time off my work and go there and then maybe even get sent away...Good luck!

I did it the day the letter arrived, almost 3 weeks early and it surly was to my advantage: I got the interview date BEFORE the day of my scheduled bometrics appointnent. And I'm sure I would not have if I waited for my actual appointment.

Good luck with the early walk in!

It always depend on the office you go but I did exactly that I went just after I got the notice and didn't have any problems. The guy told me that you can go whenever you want after you get the notice even to a different office (my case) it only depends whether they already have people that was scheduled for that day they will have the preference and you might need to wait, but I went to an office in a small town I imagine in bigger tows they might have more restrictions, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Yes I was under F-1 student visa so my I-94 would expire when my student visa expires in 2014. My friend was on B2 visa (tourist visa) and had a valid I-94 and also received her EAD without problems, it just take a few days or months now for them to process but you should get it soon.

Oh , thanks, that is reassuring. Well let's hope I get it soon. I saw people got it anywhere from 40 days to 3 months so one never knows :)

Also you can track the status of your process on USCIS website, sometimes it takes a while for your case to appear online but you can check from times to times.

I could see my EAD was approved over there before I received it on the mail. It is not a 100% reliable but may help you to see how your process is going: https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/Dashboard/CaseStatus.do
