Dem. Legislator Calls for Efforts to “Restrict the Freedoms” of Conservatives

In a stroke of irony, a Democratic state representative from New Hampshire- a state famous for the motto “Live Free or Die,” has openly advocated for a concerted effort by her fellow Democrats to “pass measures that will restrict the ‘freedoms’ that [conservatives] think they will find here.”

In December, 3rd District State Representative Democrat Cynthia Chase claimed on the leftist blog “Blue Hampshire” that legislators must work to create a hostile, unwelcoming environment for conservatives in New Hampshire.

In recent years, a group called The Free State Project, inspired by New Hampshire’s proud history of advocating living freely, has crusaded for New Hampshire to become a haven for conservative-minded people. And while living freely sounds good to the people moving there called “Free Staters,” it evidently sounds like having freedom advocates in her state irritates the Democratic politician.

“In the opinion of this Democrat, Free Staters are the single biggest threat the state is facing today. There is, legally, nothing we can do to prevent them from moving here to take over the state, which is their openly stated goal. In this country you can move anywhere you choose and they have that same right. What we can do is to make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave. One way is to pass measures that will restrict the ‘freedoms’ that they think they will find here. Another is to shine the bright light of publicity on who they are and why they are coming. They can not put their ideology into our statutes unless we elect them in great enough numbers to take over our General Court.”

New Hampshire has been leaning democrat for about a decade now, maybe longer. A good chunk of NH residents are my fellow Massholes that have either moved there permanently or commute to work from southern NH into Boston everyday. The state is not nearly as conservative as it used to be.

Vermont is entirely Democrat (or Progressive, which makes Dems look like Ronald Reagan) We even have a Socialist Senator. So what? We have no restrictions on our rights. They are LIBERALS and liberals support ALL rights. Fascists are the ones that only want people to have "certain rights"

What's your point? Is there anything in my post that was untrue? The story was about modern day NH and how a Democrat wants to "restrict the freedoms" of Conservatives. The story has nothing to do with Vermont, or it's Socialist Senator. Nobody cares about Vermont but you. Go hug a cow.
