is anyone at NBC that's past normal processing time yet?my normal processing time limit is approaching....and so is anxiety :(

In that case, you are likely not still at NBC and are at a field office.

Even if an ISO were to tell you you are NBC, I would not believe them. I was told we were still there even though we weren't.

My wife doesn't call USCIS...we are aware it's pointless...i think our case is still with NBC because when checking other cases online i saw that petitions, that got forwarded to local offices also show up online.our's still in initial review withe the same message...

i blame my anxiety on missing my wife in a way i never thought i could miss someone...i'm not really keen on this immigration..only doing it for her..and that's what scares me , knowing that i'm not going to the U.S. fully prepared to fit the profile of an immigrant...

Our petition has shown no touches since December 17th - in the mean time it has been transferred without notice. Had it not been for the 2nd senatorial inquiry, we wouldn't even know it was in Hartford.

our's shows December 12 last touch...i don't even want to think about my wife's OCD when we'll go past regular processing times...i can understand why this process it taking so long with all the fixed marriages...but one would think that a country based on immigration would be more advanced in processing applications...if they're backlogged the logical thing is to hire or relocate some more employees to work on it ..it's 400 $ for an application and i honestly don't think that looking over a file such as an i 130 is 400 bucks worth of work :):):)

They manage to get the business applications done quickly - I think family applications are last priority in their book.

We also got a touch on December 12th when we became visible online.

My first touch was December 13, when they entered it into the system 55 days after we filed. In the meantime it had indeed been transferred without notice.

Nola, you don't know that about family applications. When I was running numbers for my spreadsheet, I noticed that the early approvals were more often than not happening in groups of two or three consecutive numbers. It's equally possible that family apps get favorable treatment. But what I think is really happening is that it's random, our pattern-seeking minds try to impose some logic on it, and we get increasingly frustrated, when all they're doing is some version of "grab a box out of the back room, do all the stuff in it, grab the next box."

That said, your case, with all the expedites and contacts with officials, is just plain ridiculous and you have every right to be upset. You are being treated shamefully. Don't punish yourself on top of that by descending into depression, OK? Be nicer to yourself than they are to you. :star:

I think it has been stated officially that they do linked applications first, like a family grouping, but what I meant was that spouse applications (which are family) don't get the same treatment as business ones. I mean look at the cases still from June at VSC not being approved.

I've been feeling a little better yesterday and today, because I've made myself not look at approvals and not check any of the cases around mine.

Do the registration - even if only to trigger the laws of the universe which say as soon as you put time and effort into that then the approval will immediately come through.

Also plan an expensive and non-refundable holiday to another part of Europe - or the Canary Islands for some sun. As soon as you do that then the approval will come through and the interview will be scheduled for the same time as your holiday.

Or, do what I did. Send an angry letter to your Senator, and on the same day take vacation time off work and book travel to see your love from whom you KNOW you'll be separated for months. Then find out, on the day the travel becomes nonrefundable and the day before the Senator's office even gets the letter, that your approval dropped. heh...

Actually the Senator contact may help others (I mentioned Atlanta's problems) and the travel turns out to be handy as I need some documents and signatures from him to complete my tax filing for 2012. Hooray, way-too-expensive CPA.

There are a couple of reasons to do it anyways. I'm having my husband call next week to get the exact requirements because they aren't listed online. I think it is whatever my daughter and I would receive in cash help for one year be in our bank account plus private health insurance.

I figured on any day that I book my travel back to America that he would end up getting the I-130 approved and need to go back like 2 weeks after me. I keep waiting and waiting with a 3 month buffer zone. So, if the I-130 isn't approved by the end of May, then I will book a flight for sure. We can't afford too much time apart so it is really a hedging game.

At the end of the day, I'm just trying to see the glass half full with this. If it takes a long time, maybe the house will sell and I won't need a joint sponsor.

I'm not even allowing myself to worry that we've been put in a stack with the January filers because we were transferred so late.

I worry about our case because I am expecting an RFE due to our marriage certificate situation (long story). This same reason explains why our date of marriage and the date we filed the I-130 has such a large gap. First we waited in Indian government no man's land, now we get to wait in the U.S. government's no man's land :bonk:

I'm really hoping that it gets transferred to the Pitt office. I've been there several times explaining my situation to them about the marriage certificate. So in theory they should know exactly who I am when they see my case. (Oh this A & K's case, the one with the pig headed Indian official who refused to register their marriage). Pitt office really has no excuses. They are small and their case log is significantly lower than the rest of the USCIS offices. Last time I checked they only had 300 pending I-130s compared to what Chicago's 5,000.

I made an InfoPass appointment for next week to "refresh" their memory and to see if my case is even at the Pitt office. I think its a bit too early for me to make a congressional inquiry yet. Maybe once I reach the 2 month mark.

And I agree, it's really disgusting and pathetic how they are treating some of your cases, particularly the expedite cases.

I am the petitioner.

That does not sound pleasant.

We got ours on the day of our marriage, thankfully. I don't know if normal Danish couples get two marriage certificates but they gave us one completely in Danish and one in Danish/German/Spanish/English and maybe French? For that we are lucky. It is very easy to get records here, I think the certification from the draft board took a couple of days, the birth certificate was mailed the day after we requested it, and the police certificate is a 5 minute walk in deal.

I only wish that American things could move so smoothly! A while back I need to request a copy of my biological parents' marriage certificate from New York City to put in with my British passport application. So, I wait a month and just decided to send a letter to them stating that I can't obtain it but that the consular officer must have logged it to give me a birth registration in the first place. 4 months later it shows up. I requested my father's and my birth registration from the UK, and it was in America within the week.

I think we have some things to learn, although I suspect that India doesn't even compare. B-)

Did you eventually get it?

Ugh, I am trying to prove my dual Hungarian citizenship. I need my father's birth certificate from Hungary. I know when he was born, and where, and his mother's name and father's name. But I need to submit all the paperwork in Hungarian, which I do not speak because when my father naturalized, he swore that his kids would never be marked as inferior because they weren't "from around here". So he refused flatly to teach us his language. He wouldn't change his mind if he was still living and knew about my hassle, either. I can hear him scolding in my mind, "What the ____ do you need THAT for? We're Americans now!" LOL.
