Nola, I have a feeling she has been calling Vermont nonstop for other people and it just slipped out that way. Don't worry unless you know there's something to worry about; asking the aide if she really meant "Vermont" might help.

Well, I figured it was just a slip up since probably 99% of the other I-130s they deal with are at VSC.

I'm going to tell you something scary KDH, and I want you to promise not to freak out.

When I contacted the Senator's aid last week, she said she had been talking to Vermont about my case and would contact them for an update. Maybe she just made a little mistake, but I have this sinking feeling...

Sorry I couldn't edit my previous post...

Nola, have you tried this angle? http://www.dhs.gov/ombudsman-case-assistance I haven't seen where you have done this. One of the specific listed reasons for contacting the Ombudsman is if they made a mistake and it is causing hardship for you.

Every time I see this, I can't take it seriously.

Ombudsman? Really? ####### does that mean.

But really, sounds like a good idea, NOLA.

I think it has to be 21 days since contacting USCIS about an issue. I was mulling over doing it if we didn't hear back about the expedite by Thursday, but I've kind of lost my will at this point. Also, I don't want to burn all my options if they end up messing it up even more. It is why I have yet to contact the Representative.

It comes from Swedish, which is why it looks funny in English :) It means "commissioned person". And just for no reason, it's the word that lost me the New Jersey State Spelling Bee when I was a schoolgirl, because I'd never heard of it either :)

Reading this made me angry. Probably because I know this won't happen for us haha.

Really ? this made me happy for the poster and gave me hope that something like this could indeed happen to me, as it could to you!

I'm jaded. I waited seven months to hear last time.
