Renewed Dubai Police Clearance not yet ready for release but K-1 Visa Interview is set on Feb. 6

Hello Everyone!

I have a question regarding my Police Clearance which I need to bring at the US Embassy Abu Dhabi for my K-1 Interview this week. My Dubai Police Clearance got expired last Feb. 1, 2013 but I applied for renewal last January 28, 2013 and I was advised to pick up the renewed clearance yesterday - Feb 3,2013. I went there yesterday to pick up the new clearance but I was told that its not yet ready and this morning I went back again to the CIDG Office but again I was told that its still not ready. I asked the police office there when it will be ready and i explained to him that I need it because I have an appointment at the US Embassy by Feb. 6 but he simply said "everyone needs it but we can't tell when it will be ready". It was really disappointing because they know that everyone in that office need their police clearance yet they couldn't even tell us the exact date that these clearance will be ready for unknown reasons (last time i applied for the Dubai Police Clearance the processing time took only 3-4 days as far as I remember).

Anyway, my concern is what if i don't get the renewed Dubai police clearance before my interview, do you think the US Embassy will consider if I'll show them the expired Dubai Police Clearance that I have along with my NBI Clearance? Will there be any chance that they'll consider it if i explain to them the reason why I don't have yet the renewed clearance? Worst comes to worst I am thinking of attaching the copy of the receipt and numbers that I have for that police clearance renewal as proof that i did applied for the renewal of the clearance last Jan. 28,2013 it just so happen that there is a delay in releasing the new clearance.

Thank you for everyone who will take time to give good answers / advice regarding this matter. :)

You can still go on with your scheduled embassy interview but in case the consul wants to see your latest Dubai PC and you can't provide it, chances are you'll get a 221g form for it.

They will instruct you to submit the Dubai PC via 2GO (courier). It will be subject for review. The visa will be issued once the consul finishes reviewing the PC that you sent.

I will have my interview at Abu Dhabi Embassy, a while ago I just called the CIDG office and spoke with one police officer, he told me that they have a problem with their system that is why they couldn't issue yet the police clearance. Actually I am already thinking that once I go for the interview there might be a chance that I will be given a 221g form once i don't have that new police clearance. If in case I will be given a 221g, that means that I am approved but I will just need to provide the documents which are lacking, right?

Anyhow I will still try to go back there tomorrow morning to check for the 3rd time(still hoping for a miracle maybe I can get the PC even on the last minute before I go to Abu Dhabi tomorrow).

its valid for 3 months only and it cost AED 210.00, better apply for it a month before your actual interview day.

Thank you so much for the info!

If the certificate expired February 3rd, 2013 and it is for three months then it was issued around November 2012 correct?

If that's the case then the state department recognizes it as valid for one year from the issuance date irrespective of what the expiration date says. But maybe it's different for different consulates.

It was issued on Nov. 01, 2012 and the expiration date was Feb. 01, 2013. The expiration date is written on the PC also. I will go back again to the cidg office today to check if its ready if not then I'll just bring to the Embassy the old PC that I have.

No, your visa will be approved/issued after they have reviewed the lacking document that you submitted.
