Police check confusion today

Also, when I told her I would need the police check sent to me and not directly to the embassy she was very shocked and told me that most of the time the embassy needs it sent directly to them??

We had this same problem, so after being insisted by the police while getting the checks, we had it sent to the Embassy, not us. So mine and my mums have been sent to the Sydney consulate, and we went ahead and sent our packet to NVC, minus the police checks...

I'm not sure how big of a problem this is going to be. Sydney consulate is going to get it and not have any other details, and NVC doesn't have it and will probably RFE for it. Not sure what to do! We got told they HAD to be sent to Embassy!
