I don't know if it works in Germany but it worked for me when I ask the Abu Dhabi UAE US Embassy to change my interview schedule at the earliest date and they did. My reason was my 3-year employment contract will end in August 2011 and my original scheduled interview was October 2011 and I don't want to renew my contract as I am about to leave the country. So they changed to July 31, 2011. It was perfect.

I wish you the best. There is no harm in trying.

thank u so much i will definetely try! how did it take until ur papers were received by ur embassy. i figure there is not point in asking for a earlier date and then they dont have my papers when i have my interview...what do u think...

if it was scheduled by NVC -

wait one week after the appointment letter arrived in yer email

then

EMAIL the IV UNIT in that country, asking for an earlier interview date.

If they can accommodate you, they will.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Make a request right after they have all your papers but you know what March 6 isn't too long to wait. However you can still try.

yes is thought i would wait about a week and then ask nicely if they can reschedule me. i know march is not far away but my husband is having another knee surgery which he would need me to be there for him as a driver and help in the house with two dogs :) its always worth a shot :) cant say more than no right :D

im wondering how will i know that they received my papers already? i guess they would even tell me if they didnt receive them yet...i just wanna go back really fast this is not my home anymore im living at my mum and dads in a tiny room and that with almost 23 is kind of hard. im used to have my own and my husbands upcoming surgery makes me want to be back as soon as possible...

It does not hurt to try. I plan on doing the same thing as I see that other Nigerians who had case complete few days before me were scheduled for late march!!!!!!!

I never saw anyone scheduled for late Feb ( the only one I saw was Feb 15Th) so something tells me there may be available slots for that period and I intend to request for something earlier if I get a late march date.

The earlier we have an interview date and outcome , the ealier he comes in so I can drive him around to do SSN, DMV, familiarization with city etc and also do my change of name while this baby inside will still allow me to :D

Oh yay! This gives me hope. The way things are going at my consulate, by the time I finished the NVC process and get an interview it'll be for May - and my handicapped father is having surgery in April, so I might have to do the same thing! Good to know this is even a possibility. I expected as much indifference as many have had to deal with from USCIS :P

USC who lived in Manabí, Ecuador with hubby from 2009 - 2013. Hubby became a naturalized American citizen in August 2016. Currently living together in northern Virginia.
