I forgot to mention they did take the green cards and the ceremony letter and if you got other immigration related paperworks they will take it also. And yes I did dress up for this?? and bring my whole family including my two toddlers inlaws and grand parents.

First thank you guys! Vanessa & Azure the ceremony is pleasant and you can bring your own camera. Since the weather suck yesterday because of the rain they waited for the late comers. Im wondering if we have the same venue because they held ours in WHO radio station and in air in the morning and broadcast it on noon news the same day ands even take pictures of us together with the immigration officer and the judge then posted it in Who channel 13 website. We arrived 20 minutes before the ceremony but since the since its raining they didn't start right away. They guide us to this one room and waited for the rest to begin the ceremony they did roll called and give us a small flag and white big envelope the officer explain stuff about traveling and getting a passport and bringing relatives in he US you know what she didn't explain what's inside of he envelope but its easy to understand its about updating Ssn and a passport application welcome to the us and new citizen book.oh and while we're waiting we sign our certificate a photo copy and original. We arrive around 7:10am and left 9:00am. That's about it I you want you can go to WHOradio website and clicked Van and Bonnie and you can see why happen. Goodluck

it was the Constitution Day that was the "occasion". My ceremony was also non-standard. it was held at a beautiful historic site in Mount Pleasant, SC. It was an ourdoor ceremony with a women's choir and we had lots of local middle and high school kids there for their field trip. Several other origanizations such as Red Cross were there giving out lemonade, cookies, and other snacks.

YAY I am a citizen.

The oath ceremony felt like the final test to see if I can get through it , but I did and it's all done with.

Got there for 8am, took us 2 hours to get 96 applicants checked in for the ceremony which starts at 10am.

Felt sorry for my wife as she had the 6 month old and 3 year old with no phone and no food or drink due to courthouse rules.

Courthouse was packed, started at 10am.

It was very nice, Mayor of Pensacola was the guest speaker and his wife who is Belgian was being naturalized too which was nice to know one of our elected officials knows what it's like to go through the process!

2 Kids from the local episcopal school spoke on what it means to them to be American, 1 girl was American born to Vietnamese immigrants and I have to say it was an incredible speech for a 6th grader and had us all captivated and almost in tears.

A former director of music at one of the mega churches sang America the Beautiful in 6 or 7 different languages.....interesting and he has an amazing voice buuuuuuut America the beautiful should only be sung in English

It was very hot in the courthouse and there was a lot of repeating on how important the day was and I had to rush to work right after the ceremony ended and not having any food or drink between 7.30am and 12.30pm gave me a thumping headache during the ceremony but just glad its done with.

My colleagues threw me a nice pot luck when I got into work as well, it's an amazing feeling to know we will never be seperated and can always call America home.

Oh and an interesting point to add.

One of the applicants lost their Oath Ceremony letter, she had called USCIS many times to verify that she could go to the ceremony without that letter, phone people said it would be fine no problem as she would be on the "list". The IO on duty thought otherwise, after lots of umming and ahing by the IO he had her fill out a blank oath ceremony letter in front of him and he let her go through with the ceremony.
