I do have a question April filers; do you guys know how long it takes after the interview approval for your case status to change from Testing & Interview to Decision or Post Decision Activity!

I did my interview on the 25th of July in Phoenix (also had a name change) and I was hoping to get scheduled soon for oath as I planned some travel on August 20!

Please share your experience with me!

No we don't buddy...it varies by local office and volume or number of applicants to be assigned an oath date in your area...some of us are sitting ducks just like you are. At least we are nearing the end...

I think that's a good idea. I wish there were somewhere here I could call to "check the list" or something, you know like calling the doorman to check the list tongue.png. I know it's only been just over a week but November is such a long way away and I don't WANT to wait that long. If that's what I have to do, of course I will, but I'm going to be anxious right up to August 9th to see whether I'll get a letter... I'd also kick myself if it turned out (though I'd never know) that my file was sitting somewhere off to the side forgotten and a simple call would have got my Oath scheduled.

I'll wait to call until after you report back after your interview with what they said about whether it's full. The girl I got was on the first floor and she said she has been doing this for 20 years but she made no mention of printing the Oath letter... I wanted to ask but other people have said their people just handed them to them, or walked out and back in with one.. she just said "we'll have to see" or something like that... I didn't want to be rude.

I'm also considering a call to our Rep or something if I can't get anywhere. (but I'm worried about ticking someone off and my file going missing for a few months :S).

I wonder if you can speak to someone at the courthouse here in Davenport who handles the naturalizations, and see if there is space available on the list. That's another good idea. I've got so much free time on my hands right now, had I thought of it earlier, I would have ran down there and enquire nicely. One would never know unless one asks a question...( A closed mouth never gets fed, as my momma would say).

Another option is Cedar Rapids, which is like 45 mins away right? A friend of mine from school got naturalized there at their court house today. So happy for him.

Cedar Rapids does a once monthly schedule as well! I wish you had known this before you went to your interview so you could have given them this location as an option for Oath ceremony other than D'port. Their next one is Aug-16th!!!

Yeah that does suck. I wish I could have said either/or, whichever is sooner, but she asked me to pick. It's funny you mention Rock Island 'cause I work there and there were TWO ceremonies the DAY after my interview tongue.png

I'll just go with the flow and continue to hope and if I miss the Aug 9th date, I miss it. It's not really the end of the world I s'pose, and gives me more time to save for the passport and pay the other bills.

Either it will be August or November ...we should be glad that you got your reasons to celebrate. Isn't it not too bad that if you can have a citizenship celebration along with your wedding anniversary. Don't forget to try to call USCIS or do a infopass ...my experience told me that the USPS are not very reliable in delivering these notices ....they had lost my fingerprint notice...I know for some people...it actually take them two weeks to delivery a notice within the same city after the mail was mis-delivered to another place.

At our stage...we are finally approve...I think waiting for a oath letter is much better than any of our previous waiting...think about few years ago we were waiting for notices about our GC. Just a while ago...we don't even know how long and what will happen when we were still "in-line".

It's Friday...we should all celebrate every weekends while we know we have nothing more to worry about beside just waiting, which we have trained to be good at...all these years ...by USCIS

I should say congrat Vanessa ....we are lucky compare those people who got hold for name checks for months or people who still doing after-interview REFs just because they encounter an officer who decided they need to do so.

Yes, those of us who at least got a recommended for approval are very lucky. I have heard horror stories! Vanessa, still hoping you get an Aug 9 date. If not then, November will be around before you know it.smile.png

I can't sleep...I'm up looking over my N400 and just realized Section 7 about no. of days spent outside the u.s. in the past 5 years...I put 0 days because I'm applying from 3 years of being a LPR, and i've never had any trips outside usa since becoming a LPR. But really and truly that would be an incorrect answer if I was to really count last 5 years...because i've had trips outside the US BEFORE becoming a LPR....WHAT DO I DO?????

I do have a question April filers; do you guys know how long it takes after the interview approval for your case status to change from Testing & Interview to Decision or Post Decision Activity!

I did my interview on the 25th of July in Phoenix (also had a name change) and I was hoping to get scheduled soon for oath as I planned some travel on August 20!

Please share your experience with me!

I would call USCIS and aske them how often they hold ceremonies. My field office holds Oath ceremonies 2 times a week, BUT only every 3 month do they do Judicial ceremony (required if changing names).

It's too late to help you with this but for anyone else - you did it correctly. It's based on the last 5 or 3 years, depending on how you're filing. The reason for that is they want to make sure you fulfilled the "months inside the US" period, and that period is based on your method of application.

No stress, you're good :)

Seeing your appointment was over an hour ago you should be done by now but on the long trek home. I'm sure you did well. Excited to hear your report on the Oath ceremony #######!
