OK. i am getting super frustrated here. i had my interview on June 13th and was approved, but still no oath letter. i am about to give them a call.

well, i called them. i have to say, their customer service is actually pretty good, i got to speak with an officer right away. Unfortunatelly, she told me that my local office has Judicial ceremonies only every 3 month or so and I'll have to wait until next one, which she didn't know when it's going to be, nor when last one was. and now we wait again............. Zzzzzz...

It's 3 months between ceremonies in Davenport (for me) as well. The next one is August 9th but I still don't have an approval listed online, or an oath scheduling notification or anything... thinking I might call as well. I really don't want to miss the August date otherwise I have to wait until Nov :(

Can I ask what you said when you called?

here is what i did... called the 800 number, pressed 1 a few times, punched my case number (including the letters) and was transferred to an officer. she just asked if I was the person on the application: yes. then she basically read exactly what my status on-line says, i interrupted her and asked if she knows when the next ceremony is going to be, which she said she doesn't have access to that information, but did ask me where my field office was, she pulled up field office information and said that they have Judicial ceremonies every 3 month and she didn't know when the next one is going to be. that was it.

give them a call!!!

Okay thanks! I think I'll wait until next week and then call and ask for a tier 2 'cause I'm hoping that something behind the scenes has happened that the regular people won't know about.

This is what I plan to do at my Interview on Monday. At the very end WHEN all goes well, lol I will politely ask if he/she would mind checking to see if there is room available to schedule me for Aug-9th interview in davenport and if so, can she please go ahead and schedule me? as it is timely for future international travel plans in early September. I'm not too proud to beg with a smile. The most they can say is NO!!! THEY CAN'T and WON'T DO That for me!! hahahahaha!!!

I having been reading lots of posts about Oath day ....I would say it seems that the officer could only put you in a coming oath ceremony when the ceremony is hosted by the local office. Otherwise, it seems that they could only handle your approval via the "normal process" ...in which they would schedule you a oath ceremony which is at least one month after your interview date.

On my experience, the officer told me that the oath ceremony to be held one week from my interview is full ....so she told me that I will be scheduled for the ceremony which is held one month after my interview.

I suggest you could try to pick the ceremony location where a ceremony is held about month after your interview date. I think it is a more secured solution. To be honest, who don't want a same date oath? And we all knows that it is not likely for an officer to make exceptional expedition for an individual.

For those of you who gonna have your interview in Houston, oath ceremonies are usually held every last wednesday per month. And, you they usually "cut off" at the second week of each month...which means if you take the interview by the 2nd week of each month, you will have your ceremony on the same month. In this case, the officer will ask you to stay and wait for the oath letter after your interview.

With all due respect, Azure wasn't talking about "same day oath", she was talking about being given scheduled for the next Oath ceremony, and getting the Oath notice on the actual day of interview (which some people have said they get their oath scheduling notice the day of interview).

Also, Azure's "local office" is Des Moines, like me. That's 3 hours from where we live. Des Moines has interviews every month, if Azure chooses to take the Oath in the same town she lives in (which is 45 mins from me) then our only chances remaining for this year are August 9th, and November 15th. There are only 4 Oath ceremonies a year in Davenport... so we're both hoping to be scheduled for the August date rather than waiting another 3 months.

Based on what I understand, the local office where her interview is going to be taken place is likely to offer her to choose from numbers of locations for her oath. I am just suggesting that by picking a ceremony's location where a ceremony is going to be held in like 2 weeks is a bit risky....unless she was guaranteed for that Aug 8th ceremony. it may be more safe to just choose a location where oath ceremonies are held more often (a location that a ceremony is held every two months).

I think I could live with a two months wait for an oath instead of fighting for a 2 weeks wait time for an oath with a potential risk of a much longer wait time.

Ahh I see. Yeah but choosing Des Moines (once a month) means a 3 hour drive... I want my husband to attend and friends if they're able and not many people would travel for the 3 hours sad.png Guess I just need to come to terms with the November date. Though... November is our 4 year wedding anniversary, my brothers 25th bday, my parents 32nd wedding anniversary and my brother-in-law's bday so it's still a good month... August is my birth month though and I'm turning 30 this year biggrin.png I'm just impatient!!

Either it will be August or November ...we should be glad that you got your reasons to celebrate. Isn't it not too bad that if you can have a citizenship celebration along with your wedding anniversary. Don't forget to try to call USCIS or do a infopass ...my experience told me that the USPS are not very reliable in delivering these notices ....they had lost my fingerprint notice...I know for some people...it actually take them two weeks to delivery a notice within the same city after the mail was mis-delivered to another place.

At our stage...we are finally approve...I think waiting for a oath letter is much better than any of our previous waiting...think about few years ago we were waiting for notices about our GC. Just a while ago...we don't even know how long and what will happen when we were still "in-line".

It's Friday...we should all celebrate every weekends while we know we have nothing more to worry about beside just waiting, which we have trained to be good at...all these years ...by USCIS

I should say congrat Vanessa ....we are lucky compare those people who got hold for name checks for months or people who still doing after-interview REFs just because they encounter an officer who decided they need to do so.

I didn't want to be rude.

I'm also considering a call to our Rep or something if I can't get anywhere. (but I'm worried about ticking someone off and my file going missing for a few months :S).

I wonder if you can speak to someone at the courthouse here in Davenport who handles the naturalizations, and see if there is space available on the list. That's another good idea. I've got so much free time on my hands right now, had I thought of it earlier, I would have ran down there and enquire nicely. One would never know unless one asks a question...( A closed mouth never gets fed, as my momma would say).

Another option is Cedar Rapids, which is like 45 mins away right? A friend of mine from school got naturalized there at their court house today. So happy for him.
