Awesome Vanessa. Looks like they didn't even bother to look at your traffic ticket, which I have one too haha... I assume she didn't ask you to say the dates you left the country, the dates you live in your current home and previous homes, right? I am wondering if I should remember those dates or not.

She went through EVERY question :P She saw I had 2 exits during the last 3 years and checked those against the stamps in my passport. I suppose I should have mentioned that. She flicked through each of my passports (I have 3. My UK, Aussie and maiden-name/invalid Aussie) to make sure there were no stamps in any of the others.

She also did sort of mention my citation.. When she got to the question about "arrested, cited..." she read it out and said, I can see here your citation so you did tick the box correctly but we don't really care about those. Weren't more interested in the criminal issues so do you have any of those. I said no. I also said I have my citation here if you want to see it and she said it wasn't necessary.

Also out of interest, on the form where she asked me to confirm my details (name, height etc for the naturalisation certificate) she had only Australia listed as my country. I asked her whether it mattered that I was also UK. She said no, that they had to pick one. I said I preferred Aussie anyway because that's where I was born. She then asked how I got UK (and said it wasn't part of the interview, she was just being nosy :P) and I told her through my dad.

#######, the passport controller in my country is awful. They didn't stamp my passport twice. You think that would cause a problem? I noticed that when I was filling out N400.

I doubt it. The stamps she was looking at were my US entry ones. I have no stamps from visiting Australia because they don't stamp my passport when I arrive.

Yes. I received my interview and white letter in the same envelope, then a week later I received the yellow letter. Try not to stress. I know that's easy to say now that I'm done but it was much simpler than I was stressing myself out about.

As of today, I am proud to be an American Citizen. I thank the wonderful staff at my local office in Guaynabo, PR for setting up such a memorable and heartfelt ceremony. Tere were a total of 53 people from eleven countries. The ceremony took about an hour and a half. I was very much surprised to see a small flag of my birth country waiting for me along with the citizenship packet on top of my seat. The flag was eventually traded in for a small US flag which I got to take home. The director of that office which is also the director of the office at the US Virgin Islands is a sweetheart; USCIS needs more people like him. After the ceremony I went to my favorite seafood restaurant for lunch to celebrate. jest.gif

Hello everyone!!! Finally I am now a US Citizen!biggrin.png

So I had my oath this morning, 9:30am at Raleigh-Durham Field Office, North Carolina. My husband went with me and we got there 20 minutes early. The set-up was like this in Raleigh-Durham office--the guests are asked to proceed to the ceremony hall (the ceremony hall has a green line in the middle that separates the ones to be naturalized and the guests.) While the candidates for naturalization are asked to go to the waiting room across the ceremony hall. While at the waiting room, a USCIS officer checks and reviews the form N-445 pointing out to the questions at the back if they are all answered correctly. Then they made us fall in line and proceed to the ceremony hall, gave the form N-445 to another officer, showed her my 2 GC's (my 2 year conditional gc and my 10 year gc). Approaching the entrance of the hall, I handed over my 2 GC's to another officer and had me wait until the person in front of me finds a seat, before I can proceed and take my seat too. On every chair there is a small American flag, the programme and a white envelope with some stuffs (brochure, booklets-US Constitution and the US almanac, information for passport application). We waited for about 5-10 minutes until everyone is settled. And then the ceremony proper-- It started with the singing of the national anthem (Star-Spangled Banner). Then welcoming remarks from the acting field officer. Then a video was shown, entitled 'The Many Faces of America". Then after that the "Call of Nations", this part they will call each nation/country in no particular order and you will have to stand when your country is called. Then after this the Oath proper. Everybody who are able, stands up, raise our right hand and repeat the oath after the officer. After that a congratulatory video from President Obama was shown. Then after this a newly naturalized citizen led us in the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Then a closing remarks from the acting field officer and lastly a video entitled "God bless the USA/America" was shown. And that was it, the end of the ceremony. So after all that they told us to stand row by row to get our Certificate of Citizenship and a Voter registration application. All in all we were 59 who got naturalized coming from 26 nations/countries. The ceremony took about 30-35 minutes. We were done at around 10:30am. And btw, cameras are allowed during the ceremony, but only upon taking the oath. After the ceremony everyone can take more pictures in the ceremony hall.

So that was it my whole visa journey! The journey is really the treasure!.. biggrin.png

Congrats Osen! And thank you for your review. My wife has an Oath Ceremony next week at the same office, so this was very informative.

Have you applied for your US passport yet?

Thanks Tygrys!.. need to correct one thing though about my review-- the Pledge of allegiance comes first before the congratulatory video from the President.:) I'll probably apply for my passport next week.
