Thank you so much for the info Robo? I really appreciate it. Congrats again.

That's what I noticed at USCIS in SFO. They are not friendly at all. During my AOS interview the officer was sooo serious and not friendly. He told me that he can arrest me if i will not have my green card with me all time. Really????? If only I can talk back to him, I will ask him why they couldn't arrest these illegal immigrants that are walking around specially outside Home Depot looking for under the table jobs and govt even provided them with free food and medical. Seriously? He had the gutts to tell me that he can arrest me if i dont have the gc with me. LOL

I am sorry but I have to respond to this topic. Spartan, you said that you can get arrested without your green card. Yes that is true but not deported like those guys standing in front home depot who have to worry about their living every day. It is not easy for them to come here and make enough money to pay for their families. Not everybody is fortunate enough like you to get married to an American citizen and get their green card. Especially being form the Philippines you should understand their situation more than anyone. Life is not easy in Mexico and most of the South American countries. I just think that it is not a great example. I know, none of my business but I felt like I have to respond to that.

I agree; I also found Spartan's comment shockingly ignorant and unnecessary. There's no need for such hateful thoughts on a forum designed to support people trying to figure out the immigration quagmire.

Brsko - the immigrant from the Philippines comment was not necessary and highly insulting to a Filipina like me. It is not a matter of fortune to marry an American citizen. It just happens that the man I want to spend the rest of my life with is an American. I didn't dream - even once - and aspire to be here. Things just happen. I find the comment about illegals unfortunately agreeable - maybe not put in the most sensitive and appropriate manner but true. I work hard, pay my share of the taxes and I see people I would love to help still having a hard time because the taxes I paid is given out to people who rely on welfare. I entered here legally and feel like I am treated second class when I need to deal with immigrations and savings bled dry. No, it is not fair. I understand her sentiments. I am not trying to start a fight but we all should rethink statements before we make them.

My interview went OK and it took about 20 minutes. I passed the Englsh and US history test and was asked the following questions:

  • What is one right or freedom from the 1st Amendment?
  • There are 4 amendments to the Constitution about who can vote. Describe one of them.
  • What is one reason colonists came to America?
  • Who is in charge of the executive branch?
  • If the President can no longer serve, who becomes President?
  • Name one US territory.
The officer was not very friendly...so be prepared! Now, waiting for the oath letter! happy.png

Good luck!

Robo. Congrats and Thanks for the review! When you say the officer was not friendly, was it just the usual SF office surliness or was he/she actually being intimidating or harassing when there was no need?

I have gone through all my USCIS stuff at SF, and I have encountered only rude people so I am really hoping that I get lucky at this last step smile.png

Interesting that it took 12 days, I had my interview 6/17 and was put in oath scheduling 6/19, I guess different offices process things quicker than others.

Still no oath letter, getting a little antsy!

i had my interview on 6/13 and still no oath letter. ggrrr... everything was going pretty fast for me up to this point.

My wife passed her interview today morning at the Raleigh/Durham, NC office.

We were in and out in about 55 minutes: arrived 15 minutes early, but then waited almost 35 minutes to be called.

Interview itself took 15-17 minutes. She's got N-652 form with "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval" checked.

According to the IO, she should get her oath letter in 2-3 weeks with oath date no later than late August. We'll see.

The only document the IO requested during the interview was 2012 tax return (she has not submitted it with her form because we have not filed taxes at the time of N-400 submission yet).

My wife gave him 2012 tax transcript to keep and that was sufficient.

Congrats to your wife Tygrys!

Had my interview and testing today 07/08/ 2013, 10am at Raleigh/Durham, NC. And my application is recommended for approval! dancin5hr.gif

Got there with my husband 15 minutes early. I was called in at around 10:15am. The officer started with a sworn testimony. Then he asked for my ID, passport, and GC and some proof of marriage. I handed him a copy of my husband's US passport and naturalization certificate, our marriage certificate and our son's birth certificate. He only took a copy of our 2012 tax return and he said he doesn't need the previous ones anymore because they were already in my I751 application. Then he did a runthrough of those "yes or no" questions found in the N400 form. Then he started with the testing, first the English vocabulary test (reading and writing). He had me read aloud this statement. "What state has the most people?" Then on the other paper He asked me to write the answer which was "California has the most people".. something like that. haha.. then he proceeded with the civics test, I answered the first six questions correctly which were:

-what is one right on the first amendment of the constitution?

-who is in charge of the Executive branch?

-During the cold war, what is the main problem?

-If the president can no longer serve, who will take his place

-why did the colonist came to america?

-there are 4 amendments to the constitution about who can vote, give one.

Then he handed me a paper with all my details and double checked that everything is spelled correctly. I also signed the last page of the N400 application and the 2 passport photos. Finally he handed me the N-652 form with a check mark on the box "Congratulations! Your application has been recommended for approval." All in all it took I think 15 minutes. It was a quick and relaxed interview. And the Officer was very nice. Now I just have to wait for my oath letter. content.gif

Good luck and God bless to the rest who will have their interview. I'm sure you will also make it!.. yes.gif

Today I received an email saying i am in line for oath ceremony! Should be expecting my oath letter any day now. :)

@immibie: I gave the officer a copy of our marriage certifiate, bc of our son who was born here in the US, our 2012 tax return and a copy of our home and auto insurance. I also brought extra copies of our joint bank accounts, but he didn't take them anymore and said what i gave him was already sufficient.
