N-400 April 2013 Filers

I can't believe we are almost there!

I was a 751 waiver filer and had to wait the full five years. I have been getting my documents ready even though my window doesn't open till April 26, 2013.

So far, this is what I have:

N400 filled but not signed

Copy of GC- front and back

IRS transcripts for 2009, 2010 & 2011

Divorce decree issued by county gvt

Court docs showing charges dismissed

Receipt for a speeding ticket that was more than $500

Still need to add:

Passport size pictures

2012 taxes

Sign N400

Check for $680

Wishing everyone all the best on this last stretch of out journey. I know Atlanta is taking about 7-8 months from application to oath..so getting ready for the long wait!

OMG I know right!! I've pretty much got my packet together (per the OP) but it seems so SMALL compared to all the other mailings I've sent... It's just weird to finally be at the last stage.

I've been practicing the qn's and I think I'll be fine as long as I take time to think (some of the qn's sound similar enough I could get them wrong).

I'm also not telling my boss about dates until I know (he doesn't care unless you give him dates to work with) so knowing I may have to ask about 3 days off (luckily not in a row) isn't great. I'm sure he won't actually care... it's more I hate having to drive for 3 hours (one way) for 15 mins of fingerprints! Ah well. It'll be good at least knowing these are the final stages

Getting all papers ready I requested tax transcripts online about a month ago and still nothing, looks like a visit tomorrow to my local IRS office I definitely need a vacation after all of this!

Good luck with that! After THREE visits to the downtown Manhattan (290 Broadway) IRS office, we still don't have our 2012 transcript. The online & phone systems wouldn't take our address, so we need to get the transcript in person, as well. The first time we went, we were told they only do transcripts until 12pm. Second time we went in the morning, there were still dozens of people ahead after waiting for 2 hours. Third time, we were flat out refused, saying they don't so transcripts now, because of the volume of work they have (tax season). They let us fill out a form and said the transcript would be available for pick up in a week... We'll find out on Wednesday. I was eligible to send in my N400 over a week ago, but am still waiting for this...

Maybe try another IRS office or at least be prepared you may not get the transcript on your first try. Looks like NYC IRS offices are just as slow compared to the rest of the country as our USCIS office :-) I'm incredulous when I see posts from VJers from other parts of the country saying their IRS transcript experience was "5 minutes in and out of the office." Good luck! Let me know if you find a better IRS office, maybe I'll try elsewhere...

I had been on I-751 waive almost 3 years, I got a 10-green card in Jan this year. I am now on the road of N-400..

Walked into IRS office just now and got my IRS transcripts. Online service would'nt accept our address either. Whole process took no more than 5 minutes!! Easy as pie!! Can't wait for the 17th!

Just sent off my wife's N-400 last Thursday. I'm anticipating an NOA date someday this week. I'll be glad when this is done. NO MORE USCIS!
