So I know most people on this thread have celebrated the simple NOA2 already, but we FINALLY got ours! It feels like it has been forever. We got an RFE a couple weeks ago and then got our NOA2 today, so that part was at least fast. I'm just thankful they didn't forget about us! :)

Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig congratulationssssssss!!! biggrin.png

Hope now that the NVC has sped up for you.

I see many NOA2s in about a month or so from NOA1, but especially happy to watch older cases approved on Igor's list. Is government dysfunction affecting service centers? I see only a few approvals from CSC these two days.

Congratulations!

Thanks to everyone for everything so far in this process, and congratulations to those who have recently gotten their interview and approval, and for those still waiting, god speed.

Today, my fiance received her K-1 visa package. She is now scheduled to fly here on october 8th and everything is set for an October wedding.

For those still waiting, all I can say is that it is a stressful process, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel, just hang in there and be prudent and you will eventually prevail to be with the one you love

Congratulations! Hopefully the rest of this process will be smooth sailing for you :)

Congratulations to those who're done with this process!

We filed our in February. NOA1 and NOA2 came fairly promptly for us. The process started slowing down right around the time that I'm supposed to receive packet 3. Anyway, I never received it, so I did some research and found that this is pretty typical. Just sent packet 3 to Montreal and am currently waiting for them to log it in and send me packet 4.

To those who are dealing with the Montreal embassy and have already received their packet 4 and have the interview scheduled - how long did you have to wait? I am so anxious, I hope that I actually receive a packet this time!

It has been a bit of a while since I touched base in this forum again. Mostly because i sent off every bit of my paperwork including medical as soon as I got my NOA2 paperwork in August.

I have been in the US visiting my fiance for the last 2 months. I could have gone for my consulate interview already, had I not been overseas. We had to submit some paperwork to extend the period of our NOA2 due to them normally expiring within 90 days of issuing - which was going to be while I was away! I have now got my consulate interview for the 26th November though..YAY!

Unfortunately the visa consualte payment site keeps giving me an error message

Error:

Your request cannot be processed at this time. The site administrator has been alerted.

It is super frustrating as I need to pay through this site to secure my visa interview! This is for the Sydney consulate - not sure if anyway else how come across this issue?

In complete contrast though, my fiance and I paid our deposit for our wedding venue for April 23rd! Exciting!

Just an update for Carl and I:

We finally were able to file my paperwork. We would have filed earlier, but had to prepare to go to Oklahoma for 2 months for Carl's work (or maybe we were just lazy after getting married lol). We're about halfway through our time in Oklahoma and we're excited about returning to Washington.

The paperwork that I received with my social security card stated that I am a lawful alien allowed to work, but when I contacted uscis I was told that I still had to file an I-765. So just a heads up for those who intend to work.

Hope all is well for everybody!

Glad to hear things are moving along for you.

My wife and I were married on October 11 and of course with the government shut down, they were not issuing social security numbers, so we put ourselves into a holding pattern waiting on that to end. We went in and got her a social security card on October 28 and are currently waiting on it to arrive. As soon as it does, we plan to get her on the medical insurance, bank account and then file the AOS paperwork with travel and employment requests all together. We have until early January to be within the 90 day limit, but we want to move it along in the hopes of beating out the medical expiration. Seems like a waste to have to re-do any of that stuff if it's avoidable.

We filed AOS, travel, and employment paperwork together as well. I fortunately didn't have to deal with the headache of medical insurance (not that I'm against the affordable care act- I didn't want to deal with anything that was avoidable). And I also was caught by the government shutdown and wasn't able to change my name, and get a bank account, until after. C'est la vie

Insurance won't be a headache for us. She was covered under NHS (I think that's what it's called in the UK) so she can go directly on my insurance coverage and it's dated back to the date we were married. We just want to have the social security number to make the process of getting her added a lot more simple. Without the social security number, they'll want more information and evidence. With it, all they will want is a copy of her passport ID and her social security card and our marriage license. We have 2 of the three and just waiting on the last. We didn't want to change her name yet, because her only current ID is her passport and we didn't want to go through the hassle of getting that changed just yet. Once we have the social security card, everything else should fall into line, then we adjust status and we should be good for a few years :)
